The Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 5.56mm semi-auto rifle is purpose-built for shooters who demand reliability, modularity, and genuine American manufacturing. This mid-length gas system rifle balances smooth cycling with manageable recoil and long-term durability, making it equally at home on the range, in a defensive role, or hunting medium game. The V7 represents a significant step forward for the DDM4 line: it's the first to integrate M-LOK attachment technology alongside Daniel Defense's proprietary MFR 15.0 handguard, giving you genuine flexibility to configure optics, lights, and accessories exactly how you shoot.

Build quality starts with a 16-inch cold hammer-forged barrel in government profile, chrome-lined and tested to military standards. The upper and lower receivers are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with mil-spec geometry, including an enhanced flared magazine well that makes reloads fast and reliable. A pinned, low-profile gas block ensures consistent gas tube operation without the bulk of full-size alternatives. The MFR 15.0 handguard is free-floating for accuracy potential and runs cool thanks to optimized ventilation—a serious detail that separates Daniel Defense rifles from entry-level ARs. An uninterrupted Picatinny rail runs the full length of the top receiver, while M-LOK slots line the handguard, giving you enough real estate for any optic setup.

The muzzle is crowned with Daniel Defense's own flash suppressor, purpose-designed to reduce visible muzzle signature without sacrificing velocity. The bolt carrier group follows the M16 profile, chrome-lined with a properly staked gas key—details that matter when reliability is non-negotiable. Ergonomics are handled by Daniel Defense's glass-filled polymer buttstock and pistol grip, both featuring soft-touch overmolding for control in wet or cold conditions. The entire rifle ships in a durable impact-plastic case, and it comes finished in Mil Spec + Cerakote for corrosion resistance and a professional appearance. Made in the USA.

This is a rifle built for users who understand the difference between cheap and valuable. No marketing hype—just proven engineering, tight tolerances, and the kind of attention to detail that keeps you confident when it matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the DDM4 V7 and other mid-length AR-15 rifles?

The V7 is Daniel Defense's first DDM4 to combine M-LOK attachment technology with their MFR 15.0 free-floating handguard. This gives you genuine modularity—more mounting options and better heat management—without sacrificing the precision and durability Daniel Defense is known for. The cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel and full mil-spec construction (7075-T6 aluminum receivers, properly staked gas key, mil-spec heavy phosphate coatings) mean you're getting quality control and longevity that separates this rifle from budget alternatives.

Is the DDM4 V7 suitable for hunting?

Yes. The 5.56mm NATO caliber and 16-inch barrel make it practical for hunting medium game and varmint work. The mid-length gas system provides smooth cycling and manageable recoil, while the Picatinny rail and M-LOK slots give you plenty of room to mount a quality optic or illuminated reticle for low-light conditions. Sights are sold separately, so you can tailor the setup to your hunt.

What's included with the rifle?

The V7 comes with a Daniel Defense full-latch impact plastic case for transport and storage. Sights are not included and must be purchased separately. The rifle arrives ready to mount optics and accessories on the Picatinny rail and M-LOK slots.

Can I thread a suppressor or muzzle device to this rifle?

Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2–28 TPI, which is the standard for 5.56mm rifles. The rifle comes with Daniel Defense's flash suppressor installed. You can replace it with a suppressor, different muzzle brake, or flash hider that matches that thread pattern.
