The Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 M-LOK 16" rifle is a modular, American-made 5.56mm NATO platform built for shooters who demand both reliability and flexibility. Daniel Defense engineered this tactical rifle around a cold hammer-forged 16" barrel with a mid-length gas system that cycles smoothly and predictably while keeping recoil manageable and wear on internal parts to a minimum. This is a rifle that works hard whether you're running drills at the range, training for home defense, or deploying to a job that demands performance.

The V7's standout feature is the Daniel Defense MFR 15.0 handguard, which uses M-LOK attachment technology to let you configure your rail space exactly as you need it. Seven M-LOK positions run the length of the rail, and a continuous 1913 Picatinny slot rides the top—plenty of real estate for optics, lights, foregrips, and other mission gear. The handguard is free-floating and CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, so you get weight savings without sacrificing rigidity or heat management. The DD improved flash suppressor keeps your signature down, which matters whether you're behind a rifle at night or just avoiding an unnecessary muzzle blast in close-quarters training.

Build quality runs throughout: the receivers are mil-spec, precision-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard-coat anodized. The barrel is chrome-lined, HP/MPI tested, and fitted with a pinned low-profile gas block. The BCG is M16 profile with a properly staked gas key. The buttstock and pistol grip are glass-filled polymer with soft-touch overmolding—ergonomic, durable, and comfortable during long shooting sessions. All of this ships in a full-latch impact case and carries the "Made in the USA" stamp that Daniel Defense stands behind.

The V7 accepts standard AR magazines and runs a 6-position mil-spec buffer tube. It measures 32.25" to 35.875" depending on buttstock position and weighs 6.2 lbs unloaded. The muzzle is threaded 1/2"-28 TPI, so suppressors and aftermarket muzzle devices are an easy swap. Sights are sold separately, giving you the freedom to pair this rifle with the optics that fit your mission.

Frequently Asked Questions

What optics and accessories can I mount on the DDM4 V7 M-LOK?

The V7 features both M-LOK attachment points (seven positions along the handguard) and a continuous 1913 Picatinny rail on top of the handguard, so you can use standard AR optics, lights, vertical grips, and other accessories designed for either mounting system. Sights and optics are sold separately.

Is the barrel free-floating, and does it come with iron sights?

The handguard is free-floating for improved accuracy and cooling, but the barrel profile is government pattern. Sights are sold separately and not included with the rifle.

What's included in the case, and is the rifle ready to shoot?

The rifle ships with a Daniel Defense full-latch impact plastic case. The rifle itself does not include sights or optics, so you'll need to add those before taking it to the range or field.

Can I use a suppressor on the DDM4 V7?

Yes. The muzzle is threaded 1/2"-28 TPI, which is the standard AR suppressor thread pitch. You can install any suppressor or muzzle device with that thread pattern.
