The Colt Gold Cup National Match 9mm is a single-action, hammer-fired semi-auto built on the 1911 platform—a pistol with serious credibility for shooters who demand accuracy and reliability. If you're looking for a 9mm 1911 that delivers consistent performance at the range or in competition, the Gold Cup brings Colt's pedigree and proven design to the table. With a 5-inch barrel, 9+1 capacity, and a 8.5-inch overall length, it balances pointability with capacity in a format that feels natural in hand.

What sets the Gold Cup apart is its commitment to precision. The Series 70 firing system keeps things straightforward and proven, while the wide adjustable aluminum trigger lets you dial in the break exactly how you like it—critical for bullseye work or competition shooting where consistency matters. The adjustable Bomar-style rear sight and dovetail front post give you real control over your zero, and the checkered wood grips provide a classic, secure purchase.

This is a pistol for the serious shooter: someone who appreciates 1911 ergonomics, values accuracy over capacity, and wants a platform that responds to tuning and technique. Whether you're running it at the range, in matches, or just want a 9mm with proven bones, the Gold Cup delivers the no-nonsense performance Colt's competition line is known for.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Gold Cup and a standard 1911?

The Gold Cup is Colt's competition and target-focused 1911. It ships with premium features like the adjustable Bomar rear sight, wide adjustable aluminum trigger, and Series 70 firing system—all designed for accuracy and tuning rather than duty carry simplicity.

Is the 9mm Gold Cup reliable for range and competition use?

Yes. The Series 70 firing system is proven reliable, and the 9mm platform benefits from higher capacity (9+1) than .45 ACP while maintaining the 1911's ergonomics and single-action trigger control that competitors value.

Can I adjust the sights?

Yes. The rear sight is adjustable Bomar style, and the front sight is a dovetail post, allowing you to dial in your zero. The wide adjustable aluminum trigger also lets you fine-tune the break to your preference.

What grips come on it?

Checkered wood grips, which provide a secure, traditional grip texture and classic 1911 appearance.
