The Charter Arms Professional .32 H&R Mag revolver is a compact, lightweight wheelgun built for shooters who value simplicity, reliability, and manageable recoil. Chambered in .32 H&R Magnum, this model bridges the gap between .32 ACP pocket guns and full-size service revolvers—making it a solid choice for backup carry, home defense, or learning revolver fundamentals without the jump to larger magnums. The black nitride finish delivers durable corrosion resistance on a gun designed to work, not just sit in a safe.

Charter Arms has earned a loyal following by keeping revolvers straightforward: no bells, no complex actions, just solid mechanics. The Professional lives up to that philosophy with a 3-inch barrel that balances concealability with sight radius, fixed sights for reliability, and walnut grips that give it character. The LitePipe front sight helps you pick up your sight picture quickly in lower light—a practical touch often overlooked on guns in this class.

Whether you're a revolver traditionalist tired of plastic fantastic, a new shooter looking for a confidence-building carry gun, or someone who simply appreciates the mechanical honesty of a double-action wheelgun, the Charter Arms Professional offers genuine utility without unnecessary complexity or cost. It's the kind of gun that rewards practice and asks nothing in return but maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Charter Arms Professional a good backup revolver or concealed carry option?

Yes. The 3-inch barrel and compact frame make it suitable for backup carry or home defense roles where you want a lightweight, reliable revolver without the report and recoil of larger magnums. The .32 H&R Mag offers more punch than .32 ACP while remaining shooter-friendly.

What kind of ammunition does it shoot?

The Professional is chambered in .32 H&R Magnum, which is distinct from .32 ACP and .327 Federal Magnum. Make sure you're sourcing the correct ammo for your application.

Does it come with any sights beyond the factory fixed sights?

It comes with a fixed rear sight and a LitePipe front sight. These are factory equipped; no additional sight package is included.

What's the finish like—how will it hold up?

The black nitride finish is durable and corrosion-resistant, designed to withstand regular use and environmental exposure better than blued steel. It's a working finish, not a deep-shine showpiece.
