The Charter Arms Mag Pug .357 Magnum revolver delivers genuine stopping power in a compact package built for real-world carry and personal defense. This American-made five-shot revolver combines the proven reliability of Charter Arms with the serious ballistic performance of .357 Magnum—giving you the confidence of a magnum cartridge without the weight and bulk of a full-size duty gun.

Built around a 2.2-inch ported barrel, the Mag Pug tames recoil while maintaining the velocity and energy that makes .357 Magnum such an effective defensive round. The ported design helps manage muzzle rise on follow-up shots, a real advantage when precision matters. At just 23 ounces, it won't wear you down during a full day of concealed carry or truck duty, yet it feels substantive enough to inspire confidence without feeling like a pocket gun compromise.

The traditional spurred hammer and full-sized black rubber grip give you a familiar, secure platform. Fixed sights keep the design simple and snag-free—no levers or buttons to catch on clothing during a draw. Double-action/single-action operation means you get the security of a long, deliberate trigger pull if you need it, plus the option of a cleaner single-action break once you've presented the gun. Forged steel construction and blued finish are time-tested—Charter Arms doesn't chase trends, they build guns that work.

Whether you're looking for a dependable home-defense revolver, a truck gun, or a serious backup for backcountry work, the Mag Pug fits the role without requiring a wardrobe redesign or constant adjustment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Mag Pug suitable for concealed carry?

Yes. At 23 ounces with a 2.2-inch barrel, the Mag Pug is built as a carry revolver. The compact profile and modest weight make it comfortable for inside-the-waistband or pocket carry, while the full-sized grip ensures control and security when you draw.

Can I shoot .38 Special in a .357 Magnum revolver?

Yes. Revolvers chambered in .357 Magnum will safely fire .38 Special ammunition as well, giving you flexibility in ammunition choice and cost. However, the Mag Pug is optimized for .357 Magnum performance.

What does the ported barrel do?

The ported barrel vents gas as the bullet exits, which helps reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil. This makes follow-up shots faster and more accurate, especially important in a compact, lightweight gun where recoil can be snappy.

Is this revolver made in the USA?

Yes. Charter Arms manufactures the Mag Pug in the United States.
