The Browning X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan SPR in 6.5 Creedmoor with an 18-inch barrel is a modern, lightweight bolt-action hunting rifle built for hunters who demand precision without the weight penalty. Chambered in the efficient 6.5 Creedmoor, this rifle delivers flat-shooting performance suited to medium to long-range hunting scenarios. The shorter 18-inch barrel is optimized for use with a suppressor—a practical choice for hunters seeking hearing protection and reduced recoil without sacrificing ballistic capability. The McMillan Game Warden 2.0 carbon fiber stock in Urban Carbon Ambush finish pairs with a carbon fiber–wrapped stainless steel barrel to keep the overall platform light and maneuverable in the field, while the Carbon Gray Cerakote finish on the action resists corrosion in demanding conditions.
The X-Bolt 2 platform introduces several upgrades that refine the shooter experience. The new receiver geometry provides improved bolt guidance for smoother cycling, and the redesigned spiral-fluted bolt with an extended handle and ergonomic knob makes operation faster and more intuitive. The adjustable DLX Trigger System ships set to hunting weights, giving you a predictable break without the need for a gunsmith visit. A short 60-degree bolt lift means quick cycling and reliable clearance even under larger optics. Browning's X-Lock Scope Mounting System uses four screws per base for solid, repeatable optics attachment—no guessing whether your rings are tight enough.
Practical details matter in the field. The rifle ships with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector, both integrated into the 5/8–24 threaded muzzle. A 20 MOA Picatinny rail with bubble level sits atop the action, and a separate aluminum Picatinny rail below accepts a bipod for stable shooting. The Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad absorbs impulse, and Browning's bolt unlock button adds a safety layer during chamber checking and unloading. The free-floated barrel, bedded at the recoil lug and action screws, supports consistent accuracy shot to shot.
