The Browning X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan SPR is a modern bolt-action hunting rifle engineered for hunters who demand lightweight performance and suppressor-ready capability. Built on Browning's updated X-Bolt 2 platform, this rifle strips weight without sacrificing rigidity or reliability—ideal for backcountry hunts, mountain game, or anyone tired of lugging a heavy gun to the stand. The combination of a carbon fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel, McMillan Game Warden 2.0 carbon fiber stock, and Cerakote Carbon Gray finish creates a rifle that's as durable as it is svelte.

The X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan's receiver design is clean and purposeful. A newly redesigned action incorporates additional bolt guidance surfaces for smoother, more reliable cycling. The 60-degree bolt lift cycles fast and won't collide with tall optics—critical if you're running modern glass. A spiral-fluted bolt reduces weight while looking sharp, and the new bolt knob shape is ergonomic in cold gloves or heavy mittens. Browning's patent-pending DLX Trigger System breaks at hunting weights and is crisp enough to support precision without the creep that plagues budget triggers.

Suppressor compatibility is baked in: the barrel is threaded 5/8-24 and comes with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector. The shorter barrel length pairs well with a can if you want to run one. A Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad manages recoil, and the aluminum Picatinny rail up top accepts a bipod for stability at the range. The 20 MOA optics rail with bubble level simplifies long-range setup. X-Lock scope mounting bases use four screws per base for solid attachment. Safety is straightforward: a top-tang safety with a Bolt Unlock Button ensures you won't chamber a round unintentionally while handling or unloading.

Whether you're a mountain hunter, a precision-rifle enthusiast, or someone building a modern hunting rifle that punches above its weight class, the X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan checks the boxes. It's built to run, easy to shoot, and light enough to actually carry where it counts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan ready for a suppressor?

Yes. The barrel is threaded 5/8-24 for direct suppressor mounting. The rifle comes with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector, and the shorter barrel length is optimized to work well with a can attached.

What trigger does the X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan have?

The rifle features Browning's new patent-pending DLX Trigger System, set to hunting weights. It's designed for clean, reliable performance without excessive pull or creep.

Will a tall rifle scope fit with the short bolt lift?

Yes. The 60-degree bolt lift is designed to cycle quickly while clearing modern optics, so tall magnified scopes and modern sporting glass will not be obstructed during chambering or unloading.

What's included in the box?

The rifle ships with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and a thread protector. The Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad is installed on the stock. Optics and a bipod are not included but the rifle has a 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail and an aluminum Picatinny rail for mounting a bipod.
