The Browning X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan SPR in .308 Winchester is a modern, lightweight bolt-action rifle built for hunters who demand precision and suppressor compatibility in a package that doesn't sacrifice durability or control. This SHOT Show 2024 special combines a carbon fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel with a McMillan Game Warden 2.0 carbon fiber stock finished in Urban Carbon Ambush, delivering a rifle that's rugged enough for serious field use yet refined enough to trust on your most important hunts.
The 18-inch barrel is threaded at 5/8-24 for suppressor mounting—a practical choice for hunters looking to reduce report and recoil in the field. A Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector are included, giving you flexibility to run suppressed or unsuppressed without swapping hardware. The stainless steel action wears a rust-resistant Carbon Gray Cerakote finish, and the spiral-fluted bolt cycles fast with a short 60-degree lift that clears most modern optics. You'll get an adjustable DLX Trigger System tuned to hunting weights, a top-tang safety that's intuitive to reach, and a Bolt Unlock Button that adds a safety layer when checking the chamber or unloading.
From the range to the mountain, this rifle is set up to perform. The free-floated barrel is bedded at the recoil lug and action screws for consistency, and the enhanced receiver includes additional bolt guidance surfaces for smoother, more reliable cycling. The 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail with bubble level is pre-installed, and the X-Lock Scope Mounting System uses four screws per base for rock-solid optic attachment. You also get an aluminum Picatinny rail for a bipod and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad to manage the .308's kick.
Whether you're building a suppressed hunting rig or just want a modern, lightweight .308 that handles like a dream, the X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan SPR delivers the precision, features, and attention to detail that serious hunters expect.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this rifle set up for a suppressor?
Yes. The 18-inch barrel is threaded 5/8-24 and comes with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector, so you can run suppressed or unsuppressed. The shorter barrel length is specifically optimized for suppressor use.
What optics rail and mounting system does it use?
The X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan SPR features a 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail with an integrated bubble level. It uses Browning's X-Lock Scope Mounting System with four screws per base for secure, repeatable attachment to the receiver.
What's included with the rifle?
The Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector are included. You also get a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and aluminum Picatinny rail for bipod mounting.
What's the bolt lift angle and why does it matter?
The bolt has a short 60-degree lift, which means you can cycle it quickly and it clears most modern optics without interfering with your sight picture or requiring you to move your head during operation.
