The Browning X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro in .300 Winchester Magnum with a 26-inch barrel is a modernized big-game hunting rifle built for hunters who refuse to compromise between weight, accuracy, and durability. This bolt-action centerfire rifle represents the next evolution of Browning's X-Bolt platform, engineered with a stainless steel receiver, lightweight carbon fiber stock, and precision barrel architecture designed for consistent long-range performance in demanding terrain.

Built for mountain hunters and serious game shooters, the X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro combines cutting-edge materials with field-proven mechanics. The stainless steel action wears a Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish for corrosion resistance, while the Preferred Barrel Blanks stainless barrel is wrapped in carbon fiber to shed weight without sacrificing rigidity. A 5/8-24 threaded muzzle accommodates suppressors or the included Recoil Hawg muzzle brake—a no-compromise choice for recoil management in a magnum caliber. The 26-inch barrel delivers the velocity this cartridge demands for extended-range hunting.

The mechanical platform emphasizes reliability and shooter control. A redesigned spiral-fluted bolt with extended handle and ergonomic knob cycles smoothly thanks to new internal bolt guidance surfaces. The short 60-degree bolt lift means fast cycling without interference from modern optics. The adjustable DLX Trigger breaks at hunting-appropriate weights, while the top-tang safety and dedicated Bolt Unlock Button keep the rifle safe during field operations. Bedding at the recoil lug and action screws pairs with free-floated barrel design to support consistency shot after shot.

Ergonomics matter on a hunt. The second-generation carbon fiber stock with molded bedding block and bronze/gray graphics is noticeably lighter than traditional designs, reducing fatigue during long stalks. The Inflex Recoil Pad manages felt recoil effectively. The X-Lock Scope Mounting System uses four screws per base for rigid optic attachment. Whether you're glassing high country or waiting for opening day, the X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro delivers the speed and precision hunters expect from Browning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle suitable for long-range hunting?

Yes. The .300 Winchester Magnum chambering paired with a 26-inch barrel is built for extended-range big-game applications. The free-floated barrel, precision bedding, and adjustable trigger support consistent accuracy at distance. Pair it with quality optics and ammunition, and you have a capable long-range hunting platform.

Can I attach a suppressor or muzzle device to this rifle?

Yes. The barrel features a 5/8-24 threaded muzzle, which accommodates standard suppressors and muzzle devices designed for that thread pattern. The rifle includes a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector in the box.

What is included with this rifle?

The X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro comes with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and a thread protector. Additional accessories, mounting systems, and optics are sold separately.

Why does the carbon fiber stock matter for hunting?

Carbon fiber reduces overall rifle weight without compromising structural rigidity, making it easier to carry on long hunts and minimizing fatigue. The molded bedding block adds stability for accuracy while keeping the rifle light enough for mountain and backcountry use.
