The Browning X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22-inch barrel is a modern, lightweight big-game hunting rifle built for hunters who demand both accuracy and packability. This bolt-action rifle combines a stainless steel receiver and barrel with a carbon fiber stock and wrap, keeping weight down without sacrificing the rigidity needed for consistent shot placement. The Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish on the action and barrel resists rust and corrosion in demanding field conditions, while the threaded muzzle (5/8-24) accepts the included Recoil Hawg muzzle brake—or a suppressor if you prefer a quieter shot.
The X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro is engineered for fast, smooth operation. The new spiral-fluted bolt with extended handle and redesigned bolt knob cycles faster, while the short 60-degree bolt lift clears most optics without sacrificing speed. The rifle is bedded at the recoil lug and action screws, which stabilizes the gun and allows the barrel to float freely—a setup that favors accuracy. Browning's new adjustable DLX Trigger comes set for hunting weights, and the top-tang safety is easy to reach from both firing positions. A dedicated Bolt Unlock Button adds a safety layer when unloading the chamber.
Practicality is built in: the Inflex Recoil Pad softens felt recoil, the carbon fiber bedding block inside the stock reduces vibration, and the X-Lock Scope Mounting System—which uses four screws per base—locks your optic down solid. Whether you're glassing high country or working through thick timber, this rifle is compact enough to carry all day yet built to shoot far.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this rifle threaded for a suppressor?
Yes. The barrel is threaded 5/8-24, which accepts suppressors as well as the included Recoil Hawg muzzle brake. The thread protector is included.
What scope mounting system does the X-Bolt 2 use?
The X-Lock Scope Mounting System uses four screws per base, providing a very solid connection to the receiver. This is Browning's proprietary system designed for rigidity and repeatable zero.
How much does carbon fiber reduce the weight compared to a standard stock?
We don't have the exact weight comparison, but the carbon fiber stock and carbon fiber-wrapped barrel are core features of the Mountain Pro line, designed specifically to keep the rifle lightweight for hunters who pack long distances.
What does the Bolt Unlock Button do?
The Bolt Unlock Button works in conjunction with the top-tang safety to add an extra layer of safety when you're checking the chamber or unloading. It prevents accidental opening of the bolt when the safety is engaged.
