The Browning Maxus II Rifled Deer is a purpose-built semi-auto shotgun engineered for slug hunting and whitetail pursuit. Built on the proven Maxus platform, this 12-gauge autoloader pairs a 22-inch fully rifled barrel with the Power Drive Gas System to deliver reliable cycling, reduced felt recoil, and fast follow-up shots when it counts. Whether you're hunting from a stand or working thick cover, the Maxus II Rifled Deer gives you the speed and accuracy you need to take advantage of close to mid-range opportunities on big game.
The heart of this gun is its thick-wall rifled barrel, purpose-designed to stabilize sabot-type slugs and wring every bit of accuracy from quality ammunition. The cantilever Weaver-style scope mount sits on top and holds zero reliably—and it stays put even when you break down the barrel for cleaning. This is the kind of practical detail that separates a dedicated deer gun from a general-purpose shotgun. Pair it with quality glass and premium rifled slugs, and you'll be capable of reaching out to distances that would surprise you from a traditional smoothbore.
The composite stock features a close-radius pistol grip and overmolded surfaces that stay put in your hands whether your gloves are wet or slick with rain. The shim-adjustable comb and drop let you dial in the fit for your shooting style, while the length-of-pull adjustment ensures the gun shoulders naturally. Mossy Oak Bottomland finish blends seamlessly into early and late season cover. This is a serious shotgun for hunters who want a semi-auto's reliability and speed in a platform built specifically for slug accuracy and knockdown power.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mount a rifle scope on the Maxus II Rifled Deer?
Yes. The shotgun features a cantilever Weaver-style scope mount on top of the receiver that will accept any standard Weaver or Picatinny rail-mounted optic. The cantilever design is rigid and holds zero even after you remove the barrel for cleaning.
What ammunition should I use in this gun?
The 22-inch rifled barrel is designed specifically for sabot-type slugs. A quality rifled slug paired with good optics will give you the accuracy and knockdown power this gun was built to deliver.
Is the stock adjustable?
Yes. The composite stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop, allowing you to customize the fit to your shooting style and frame.
What hunting is the Maxus II Rifled Deer best suited for?
This shotgun is purpose-built for slug hunting, particularly for whitetail deer in areas where rifles are restricted or where closer-range shotgun seasons apply. The semi-automatic action and rifled barrel make it effective for hunters who need reliable, accurate performance in thick cover or from elevated positions.
