The Browning Maxus II is a 12-gauge gas-operated autoloading shotgun built to handle the demands of waterfowl hunting, upland work, and clay shooting. This 3-1/2-inch magnum shotgun combines proven reliability with genuine shooting comfort, making it a solid choice for hunters who spend serious time in the field and need a gun that won't let them down when conditions get tough.

At its core, the Maxus II relies on Browning's Power Drive Gas System, engineered to cycle reliably across a wide spectrum of loads—from light target rounds to heavy 3-1/2-inch magnum goose shells. The gas-operated action reduces felt recoil, and the redesigned composite stock now features a new SoftFlex cheek pad and a 1-1/2-inch Inflex Recoil Pad to further soften the punch of hard-kicking ammunition. You get genuine comfort improvements, too: the stock and forearm are now wrapped in overmolded rubber for a secure grip in wet conditions, and the stock can be trimmed up to 3/4 inch and shimmed for cast and length of pull, letting you dial in a fit that works for your frame.

The Maxus II arrives dressed in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat camouflage and comes ready to hunt with three extended Invector-Plus choke tubes. Other thoughtful touches include a ramped trigger guard for faster loading, oversized bolt release and bolt handle, and a fiber-optic front sight paired with an ivory mid-bead. The 26-inch barrel and overall ergonomics promote a smooth swing, and the lightweight magazine tube keeps the gun balanced. Nickel Teflon coating on the bolt, bolt slide, shell carrier, and bolt release ensures durability and smooth operation season after season.

An ABS hard case is included for transport and storage. Whether you're working a marsh at sunrise or shooting clays on a Saturday afternoon, the Maxus II delivers the reliability and comfort you expect from a Browning autoloader.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ammunition does the Browning Maxus II handle?

The Maxus II is a 3-1/2-inch magnum 12-gauge, so it will cycle 2-3/4-inch, 3-inch, and 3-1/2-inch ammunition. The Power Drive Gas System is tuned for reliable operation across the full spectrum of loads, from light target rounds to heavy magnum waterfowl loads.

Is the stock adjustable for different shooters?

Yes. The composite stock can be trimmed up to 3/4 inch and is shim adjustable for both cast (sight picture alignment) and length of pull, allowing you to customize the fit for your build and shooting style.

What comes with the gun?

The Maxus II includes three extended Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder) and an ABS hard case for transport and storage.

Is the Maxus II suitable for waterfowl hunting?

Absolutely. The Maxus II is designed to handle the demands of marsh hunting, including 3-1/2-inch magnum loads, and comes finished in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat camouflage.
