The Browning Citori CXT 12ga over/under shotgun is a versatile workhorse engineered for shooters who refuse to choose between clay target competition and field hunting. Built on Browning's legendary Citori platform, the CXT bridges the gap between dedicated trap, skeet, and sporting clays guns while remaining light and balanced enough to carry all day in the field. If you're serious about competing across multiple disciplines or want one shotgun that handles everything from tournament rounds to upland game, the CXT delivers the adaptability and performance to do both without compromise.
The CXT's foundation is a steel receiver finished in high-polished blue with a clean, professional appearance. Its 30-inch barrels wear a lightweight profile with a high post rib and ventilated top and side ribs—geometry that supports a 60/40 point of impact, a neutral balance suited to all three major clay target games. The 3-inch chamber accepts modern 12-gauge loads, and the barrels are fitted with Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones to reduce felt recoil and improve pattern consistency. You get three Midas grade extended Invector-Plus choke tubes right out of the box, giving you flexibility to dial in performance for your specific shooting situation.
What sets the CXT apart is the Triple Trigger System: choose from three different trigger shoe profiles to find your perfect trigger break position. Combined with Grade II American walnut in a gloss finish, an Inflex recoil pad, and ivory front and mid bead sights, the CXT delivers a gun that feels and shoots like it costs considerably more. At just over 8 pounds, it won't wear you down during a long day, and the balance point lands right ahead of the hinge pin—exactly where you want it for smooth, intuitive gun handling.
The Citori CXT is engineered for shooters who are tired of making compromises. Whether you're a competitive clay target shooter branching into the field, a wing shooter looking to sharpen your eye at the range, or someone who simply wants a do-everything 12-gauge that handles beautifully and performs reliably, this is a gun built to earn your trust and deliver results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Citori CXT handle both clay target games and field hunting?
Yes. The CXT is purpose-built as a crossover gun. Its 60/40 point of impact, 30-inch barrels, and balanced profile work across trap, skeet, and sporting clays competition, while the 3-inch chamber and included choke tubes make it fully capable for upland and waterfowl hunting. It's one gun for multiple missions.
What choke tubes and sights come with the shotgun?
The CXT ships with three Midas grade extended Invector-Plus choke tubes and ivory front and mid bead sights for quick target pickup on clay targets or game birds.
How does the Triple Trigger System work?
The Triple Trigger System allows you to select from three different trigger shoe profiles to dial in the exact finger-on-trigger position that works best for your hand size and shooting style. One trigger is supplied with the shotgun.
Is the Citori CXT too heavy to carry all day?
No. At 8 pounds 6 ounces with a lightweight barrel profile, the CXT is engineered for all-day carry. The balance point sits just ahead of the hinge pin, giving it a crisp handling feel that doesn't fatigue you during long hunting days or tournament rounds.
