The Browning Citori 725 Field in 28 gauge is a refined over-under shotgun built for hunters and clay shooters who appreciate balance, pointability, and elegant handling. This 26-inch barrel model combines Browning's reputation for reliable field guns with the 725's refined engineering—a low-profile steel receiver that sits naturally in your hands, paired with Grade II/III checkered walnut and accented engraving that looks as good in the truck as it does in the upland.
The 725 was engineered with longevity and real-world durability in mind. A tapered locking bolt accommodates wear over years of use, keeping the receiver lock tight. The transverse full-width hinge pin maximizes strength, while chrome-chambered barrels resist corrosion—critical if you're hunting wet country or storing the gun between seasons. The Fire Lite mechanical trigger breaks clean and predictable, and the Inflex recoil pad II absorbs enough punishment that you can shoot all day without flinching.
Choke-wise, it comes fitted with Invector-DS tubes, giving you flexibility to tighten or open patterns for different ranges and quarry. The 28 gauge is a sweet spot for upland birds and light clay work—less recoil, less payload, perfect if you prefer a nimble gun that won't wear you out. Point-of-impact shoots 50/50, meaning it patterns evenly between the barrels, and the ivory bead sight is easy to pick up in morning light or the shade of tall grass.
This is a shotgun that earns its place whether you're working a grouse covert, fishing a cattail slough for woodcock, or breaking clays at your club. It's not flashy, but it's built to last and feel right the moment you mount it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Browning Citori 725 Field designed for?
The Citori 725 Field is purpose-built for upland hunting and clay target shooting. Its balanced low-profile receiver and responsive trigger make it equally at home in a grouse covert or at a skeet station. The 28 gauge is particularly suited to upland birds where finesse matters as much as payload.
What chokes are included with the 28 gauge Citori 725 Field?
The shotgun comes fitted with Invector-DS choke tubes. This system allows you to swap tubes to adjust your pattern for different ranges and hunting conditions, giving you flexibility without replacing barrels.
Is the Citori 725 Field good for clay shooting?
Yes. The 50/50 point-of-impact (balanced between the two barrels), clean mechanical trigger, and light recoil management make it well-suited to clay target sports. Many shooters prefer the 28 gauge for sporting clays because it encourages good technique with minimal fatigue.
What finish does the walnut stock have?
The stock features a gloss oil finish on Grade II/III checkered walnut. This traditional finish enhances the wood's natural appearance and character while providing practical protection in the field.
