The Browning BL-22 Grade II is a lever-action .22 rimfire rifle built for shooters who value reliability, handling, and genuine craftsmanship. Whether you're introducing a younger shooter to marksmanship, hunting small game and varmints, or just plinking at the range, this rifle delivers the accuracy and ease of use Browning is known for—without the bloat or unnecessary features you'll find in entry-level alternatives. The Grade II's polished blued steel receiver and gloss black walnut furniture strike that balance between rugged functionality and classic aesthetics that works in the field or on the bench.

One of the BL-22's standout strengths is its short 33-inch lever throw. That compact stroke makes the action cycle faster for adults and far less fatiguing for kids—a real advantage during longer sessions or when you're building shooting fundamentals. The tubular magazine holds 15 rounds and accepts any mix of .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle ammunition, giving you flexibility to load whatever you have on hand or prefer for your shooting. The machined steel construction and hand-fitted wood are genuine: this isn't a budget rimfire that feels plasticky or loose after a season of use.

The rifle ships with fixed open sights—a steel blade up front and a folding rear sight—so you're ready to shoot out of the box. At 5 pounds and 36.75 inches overall, it's light enough to carry all day and handy enough to point quickly. A 1-in-16-inch twist and 20-inch barrel provide the velocity and accuracy you need for small-game hunting or target work at reasonable distances. The 13.5-inch length of pull suits most adult frames and many older youth shooters comfortably.

If you're tired of seeing cheap, plastic-stocked .22s at every dealer, the BL-22 Grade II reminds you that a rimfire rifle doesn't have to be disposable. This is the kind of rifle you'll hand down.
