The Browning 1911-380 is a modern take on John M. Browning's iconic 1911 platform, chambered in 380 ACP and built for shooters who want a genuinely shootable pocket pistol. Unlike many compact 380s that prioritize portability over control, this gun steps up slightly in size to manage recoil better, making follow-up shots faster and more accurate without sacrificing carry-friendly dimensions. At just 16 ounces with a 3.63-inch barrel and 6.875-inch overall length, it's designed for everyday carry, backup duty, or a reliable range gun—especially for shooters who prefer the simplicity and proven mechanics of the 1911 platform.

The frame is built from black composite, keeping weight down while the all-steel barrel ensures durability and accuracy. The grip is compact yet wide enough to give your shooting hand a solid, full purchase—comfort matters when you need reliable shot placement. Combat white dot sights front and rear give you a clean sight picture in most lighting conditions, and the single-stack magazine holds 8 rounds of 380 ACP. Everything is finished in matte to reduce glare and protect against wear.

This is a pistol for carry-minded shooters who've shot enough to know that a 1911 platform shoots the way they think, and who aren't willing to sacrifice control for compactness. Whether you're breaking it in at the range or carrying it as a daily companion, the 1911-380 brings nearly a century of design refinement to a cartridge and form factor that works.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Browning 1911-380 and other compact 380 pistols?

This gun is slightly larger than typical pocket 380s to give you better recoil control and a full grip purchase. That translates to faster, more accurate follow-up shots and less muzzle flip—the classic 1911 design works, and the 380 ACP cartridge becomes genuinely pleasant to shoot rather than snappy.

Is the Browning 1911-380 good for everyday carry?

Yes. At 16 ounces and 6.875 inches long with a 3.63-inch barrel, it's sized to carry in a belt holster, pocket holster, or purse carry without being burdensome. The manual safety and hammer design give you positive control, and the 8-round magazine capacity is reasonable for a single-stack platform.

What sights come on the 1911-380?

It features combat white dot sights front and rear with a 4.75-inch sight radius, giving you a clear sight picture for precision shooting. The white dots are visible in most conditions, though you may want to consider night sights if you plan to carry in low-light environments regularly.

Does this gun use standard 1911 magazines?

No. The 1911-380 uses proprietary single-stack magazines designed for the 380 ACP cartridge and this frame. Standard full-size 1911 magazines will not fit or function in this pistol.
