The Winchester XPR Sporter in .350 Legend is a purpose-built rifle for hunters who want a modern, accurate platform in one of today's most practical mid-range cartridges. The .350 Legend has carved out a serious following among deer hunters and varmint shooters for its flat trajectory, mild recoil, and legal status in many regions where larger cartridges are restricted. The XPR Sporter delivers the accuracy and reliability Winchester rifles are known for in a lightweight, nimble package that handles well from a blind, truck bed, or stand.
Every component on this rifle is engineered for precision and longevity. The receiver is machined from solid steel bar stock and through-hardened, giving you a foundation that'll hold zero and handle years of shooting. The button-rifled, free-floated barrel is thermally stress-relieved and precisely headspaced—those aren't marketing phrases, they're the difference between a rifle that shoots and one that shoots tight groups. The recessed target crown protects your muzzle rifling from dings that kill accuracy over time. Winchester's M.O.A. trigger system offers zero take-up, zero creep, and zero overtravel, translating to clean, predictable breaks that make your marksmanship shine.
The XPR Sporter doesn't compromise on handling or comfort. A close-grained Grade I walnut stock with crisp checkering provides both aesthetics and genuine grip purchase when you need it. The flattened fore-end is designed to settle securely in a sandbag or rest, stabilizing your shots without fussiness. Nickel Teflon coating on the bolt body means smoother operation in the field and better corrosion resistance—critical when you're hunting in damp or salt-spray conditions. The Inflex recoil pad directs energy downward and away from your cheek, keeping you comfortable even with multiple shots. A steel recoil lug is inletted into the stock to prevent receiver twist under recoil, preserving that accuracy you paid for.
At 6 pounds 12 ounces with a 22-inch barrel, this rifle is responsive and quick-handling without sacrificing sight radius or velocity. The detachable polymer magazine feeds reliably and the two-position thumb safety with a visible and tactile cocking indicator keeps you oriented in any light. Perma-Cote matte black metal surfaces shed glare and protect against rust and corrosion—exactly what you need in a working hunting rifle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the .350 Legend legal for deer hunting in my area?
The .350 Legend was specifically developed to meet the hunting regulations in multiple states where centerfire rifle cartridges were previously prohibited or restricted. However, hunting laws vary widely by state and region, so always check your local and state game regulations before purchasing or hunting. Contact your state's wildlife agency or game department for the most current legal cartridge list.
What comes with the XPR Sporter, and what will I need to buy separately?
The XPR Sporter comes as a complete rifle with the walnut stock, detachable magazine, and all mechanical components. You'll need to purchase ammunition, a scope or sights, and any mounting hardware separately. A quality scope is highly recommended for maximizing the rifle's accuracy and your hunting effectiveness.
How much recoil does the .350 Legend generate compared to larger cartridges?
We don't have comparative recoil data in our specs, but the .350 Legend is marketed as a mild-recoil cartridge suitable for shooters of various sizes. The Inflex recoil pad on the XPR Sporter further reduces felt recoil by directing energy downward and away from your shoulder and cheek, making this rifle comfortable to shoot all day.
Is this rifle suitable for long-range hunting or target shooting?
The XPR Sporter's feature set—steel receiver, free-floated barrel, M.O.A. trigger, and steel recoil lug—positions it as an accurate, reliable platform. The .350 Legend's ballistics and intended use case are best discussed with our team; we can help you understand if this caliber matches your specific hunting distance and game.
