The Winchester SXP Buck Bird Combo is a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun built to handle both upland birds and deer season from a single, versatile platform. This 3-inch chamber workhorse ships with two barrels—a 28-inch field barrel for bird hunting and a 22-inch fully rifled deer barrel with TruGlo sights—so you're not switching guns between seasons. It's a practical choice for hunters who want one shotgun to do multiple jobs without compromise.

Winchester engineered the SXP around speed and handling. The aluminum alloy receiver and inertia-assisted pump action deliver fast follow-up shots when you need them, and the composite stock with Inflex Technology recoil pad keeps felt recoil manageable during long days afield. Balanced and quick to point, it's a shotgun that gets out of your way and lets you focus on the bird or the shot.

The combo comes factory-loaded with three Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder) for the bird barrel, giving you the flexibility to match different game and conditions. At 6 pounds 14 ounces with a 49-inch overall length, it carries easy in the field without feeling whippy or front-heavy. Whether you're working a covey of quail in October or glassing for deer in November, the SXP Combo eliminates the need to own two guns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the two barrels, and why would I need both?

The 28-inch field barrel with brass bead sight and open chokes is optimized for wing shooting at birds over dogs or from a blind. The 22-inch fully rifled deer barrel with TruGlo sights is designed for slug accuracy on whitetail. One gun, two completely different hunting scenarios—you don't have to own separate shotguns.

Can I swap the barrels myself, or do I need a gunsmith?

The SXP design allows barrel changes, but we don't have specific field-swap instructions in our data. We recommend consulting the owner's manual or contacting Winchester directly for proper barrel removal and installation to maintain safety and fit.

What does the Inflex recoil pad do?

Winchester's Inflex Technology recoil pad absorbs and distributes recoil energy, reducing the sharp kick felt at your shoulder. Over a full day of shooting, that means less fatigue and better follow-up shot accuracy.

Is this shotgun good for hunting both ducks and deer?

The field barrel with Modified and Improved Cylinder chokes will work for waterfowl and upland birds. For duck hunting, you'll want to verify local regulations for shot type and non-toxic ammunition requirements. The rifled deer barrel is dedicated to slugs for deer hunting and isn't appropriate for bird shot.
