The Winchester Model 70 Extreme in 6.5 Creedmoor is a hunting rifle built for shooters who demand durability and performance in unforgiving terrain. This is a rifle that doesn't apologize for its no-nonsense design—the receiver and barrel wear a tungsten Cerakote finish that stands up to the elements while delivering the classic controlled-feed reliability Winchester built its reputation on. The 22-inch barrel features a recessed target crown and comes equipped with a muzzle brake, giving you cleaner shooting and less perceived recoil downrange.
Where this Model 70 really sets itself apart is the Bell and Carlson synthetic stock, paired with a sculpted cheekpiece that locks you into a solid sight picture shot after shot. The TrueTimber VSX finish isn't just camo for camo's sake—it's a practical, subdued pattern that works in real hunting conditions. The jeweled bolt body and knurled bolt handle feel as good as they look, while the hinged floorplate gives you easy access when you need it. Winchester didn't cheap out on recoil management either: the Pachmayr Decelerator pad is there to keep your shoulder comfortable on a day of shooting or when that big buck steps into the clearing.
This is the rifle for hunters who are serious about their kit. Whether you're glassing steep country in the West or working through thick timber, the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge delivers flat trajectory and reliable performance on game, while the Model 70's three-position safety keeps you in control. The free-floating barrel supports the accuracy you'll need at distance, and the controlled round feed with claw extractor ensures smooth, reliable feeding every time the bolt cycles.

Is the 6.5 Creedmoor good for hunting?
Yes. The 6.5 Creedmoor is a proven hunting cartridge that delivers a flat trajectory and reliable performance on game at reasonable distances. It's become a popular choice among serious hunters.
