The Winchester 70 Long Range in 6.5 Creedmoor represents the evolution of one of America's most respected bolt-action rifle designs. Built for serious long-range hunters and precision shooters who demand accuracy beyond typical hunting distances, this rifle combines Winchester's legendary action with modern components engineered to deliver repeatable performance downrange. The 24-inch fluted barrel with muzzle brake helps manage recoil and supports the flatter trajectory and extended effective range that make 6.5 Creedmoor a go-to choice for western hunting and target competitions.
What sets the Winchester 70 Long Range apart is its no-nonsense approach to accuracy. The action features a matte black finish that resists glare and corrosion, while the Bell and Carlson composite stock provides the stability serious shooters expect without the weight penalty of traditional wood. The integrated aluminum bedding block locks the action precisely in place, critical for consistency shot to shot. The four-round capacity keeps the profile compact without sacrificing practical hunting capability, and the M.O.A. trigger system delivers a clean, predictable break essential when precision matters.
The tan composite stock strikes a balance—durable enough for backcountry use yet finished in a neutral tone that works across varied terrain. The Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad isn't just comfort; it matters on long hunting days or during load development at the range. The fluted barrel sheds weight and heat faster, helping maintain zero stability during rapid strings of fire. This is a rifle built for hunters who know their effective range and take the time to practice at distance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Winchester 70 Long Range suitable for long-range hunting?
Yes. The 6.5 Creedmoor caliber, 24-inch fluted barrel, and muzzle brake are all configured specifically for extended-distance hunting. The M.O.A. trigger and aluminum-bedded stock support the precision and consistency required for long-range shots.
What does the fluted barrel do?
Fluting removes material from the barrel while maintaining structural integrity, reducing overall weight and improving heat dissipation. This helps the barrel cool faster between shots and can improve consistency during strings of fire. The integral muzzle brake further manages recoil and helps the shooter maintain sight picture.
