The Winchester 70 Long Range in .308 Winchester is a modern take on America's most trusted bolt-action rifle platform, purpose-built for serious long-range hunters and precision shooters. This 24-inch fluted barrel variant in tan with muzzle brake delivers the accuracy and reliability Winchester rifles are known for, paired with contemporary features that keep recoil manageable and groups tight at distance.
What sets this rifle apart is its foundation: a Bell and Carlson composite stock with aluminum bedding block ensures repeatable accuracy shot after shot, while the matte black action resists glare and corrosion. The fluted barrel reduces weight without sacrificing stiffness, and the integral muzzle brake helps mitigate .308 recoil—a real consideration when you're executing precision shots from a field position. The M.O.A. trigger system delivers a clean break, essential when you're dialing in on distant game. A Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad rounds out the package, making extended shooting sessions less punishing.
The .308 Winchester cartridge remains the gold standard for long-range hunting across North America: plenty of power, proven ballistics, and ammo availability when you need it. This rifle respects that heritage while incorporating the materials and ergonomics today's rifleman expects. Whether you're setting up for a western elk hunt, benchrest shooting, or working through a precision rifle course, the Winchester 70 Long Range delivers the accuracy and handling that justify its reputation.
