The Weatherby Mark V Apex LH 6.5 RPM 26" bolt-action rifle is a left-handed long-range hunting rifle that combines Weatherby's legendary Mark V action with modern lightweight engineering. Built for hunters who demand precision without the penalty of extra weight, the Apex delivers on two fronts: it shoots accurately at distance and carries comfortably through rough country. The 6.5 RPM chambering gives you flat-shooting, wind-resistant ballistics with manageable recoil—ideal for open-country hunts where shots extend beyond typical ranges.
The backbone of this rifle is the proven Weatherby Mark V steel action, upgraded with a spiral-fluted bolt body that shaves weight while smoothing bolt cycling. The 26" barrel is fluted and finished in two-tone Cerakote (Coyote Tan and Graphite Black) to reduce overall heft without sacrificing velocity. Topping it off is Weatherby's Accubrake ST, a symmetrically-ported muzzle brake designed to tame recoil, especially important in magnum-level cartridges. The brake's ports are engineered to match the barrel profile, keeping the rifle's lines clean while managing kick effectively.
What truly sets the Apex apart is the Peak 44 Bastion carbon fiber stock—one of the lightest production vertical-grip stocks available at just 23 ounces. The ambidextrous palm swell and substantial thumb groove promote consistent form from any shooting position, whether you're at the bench or glassing a distant ridge. Dual swivel studs let you rig accessories your way. And that 3DHEX recoil pad isn't just a gimmick: the 3D-printed, interlocking void structure progressively collapses during recoil, spreading the impulse over a longer time and noticeably reducing felt kick. The result is less fight with the gun and better follow-up accuracy when it matters most.
The color scheme—two-tone cerakote on the barrel, Coyote Tan on the trigger guard and receiver, Graphite Black on the bolt and safety, and exposed carbon fiber on the stock with tan and brown accents—is as practical as it is good-looking. Glare management and durability matter when you're hunting public land or remote country, and this finish delivers both.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Weatherby Mark V Apex available for left-handed shooters?
Yes—this rifle is configured as a left-hand (LH) model, making it a genuine southpaw rifle, not just a safety swap.
What does the Accubrake ST do, and how effective is it?
The Weatherby Accubrake ST is a muzzle brake with 30 symmetrically-spaced ports designed to harness and redirect recoil gases, taming the kick—especially noticeable in magnum loads. It's ported to blend with the barrel profile for a clean appearance.
How much does the Peak 44 Bastion stock weigh?
The Peak 44 Bastion carbon fiber stock weighs just 23 ounces, making it among the lightest production vertical-grip carbon fiber stocks available.
What's the 3DHEX recoil pad and how does it work?
The 3DHEX is a 3D-printed recoil pad with interlocking voids inside that progressively collapse during recoil. This expands the time over which the recoil impulse travels, reducing felt kick and helping you maintain follow-up accuracy.
What is the 6.5 RPM cartridge?
The 6.5 RPM is a modern rifle cartridge known for flat-shooting, wind-resistant ballistics. We'd recommend consulting Weatherby's ballistics data or a knowledgeable gunsmith for load recommendations and performance details specific to your rifle.
