The TriStar Viper G2 Wood is a 16 gauge semi-automatic shotgun built for shooters who want versatility without sacrificing handling. This 28-inch gas-operated shotgun cycles everything from light target loads to heavy waterfowl rounds, making it at home in the upland field, on the duck pond, or at the clay range. The Turkish walnut furniture and cut checkering give it classic appeal, while the gas operating system keeps recoil manageable and the action running clean across a wide range of ammunition.

The removable choke system uses Beretta Mobile threads and ships with three choke tubes—improved cylinder, modified, and full—so you can dial in patterns for whatever you're hunting or breaking clays. The chrome-lined chamber and barrel handle repeated shooting sessions without fouling up, and the vent rib with matted sight plane and fiber optic sight help you stay on target. A manual E-Z load magazine cut-off lets you safely unload the chamber without cycling a fresh shell from the magazine, a practical feature when you need to swap loads or step down from the line.

Handling is straightforward: the tubular magazine loads from the bottom and holds five rounds; the shot plug comes installed but unscrews easily if you need to remove it for hunting regulations. The safety sits at the back of the trigger guard and locks the trigger, hammer lever, and hammer when engaged. A rubber recoil pad backs up the design, and TriStar covers the mechanical components with a five-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ammunition does the Viper G2 Wood handle?

The gas-operated action cycles light target loads through heavy waterfowl rounds. The removable shot plug allows compliance with hunting regulations where required. Always follow local hunting regulations and ammunition restrictions for your jurisdiction.

Are choke tubes included, and can I use other brands?

Yes, three Beretta Mobile choke tubes (improved cylinder, modified, and full), a choke box, and a wrench come in the box. The Beretta Mobile thread pattern is widely compatible with aftermarket chokes that share the same standard.

How do I safely unload the shotgun?

The manual E-Z load magazine cut-off allows you to unload the chamber without cycling a new shell from the magazine. Slightly push the lifter up and open the action to eject the chambered round; the magazine stays isolated so no fresh round feeds into the chamber.

What finish protects the barrel and chamber?

The barrel and chamber are chrome-lined, which resists fouling and corrosion during extended shooting sessions and makes cleaning easier between outings.
