The Tristar Viper G2 Youth 26" 20-gauge semi-auto sporting shotgun is purpose-built for younger shooters and smaller-framed adults who want a gas-operated shotgun that doesn't sacrifice reliability or versatility. In 20ga, this semi-auto delivers lower recoil than its 12-gauge counterparts while maintaining the speed and pattern density you need for clay sports, upland hunting, or a first shotgun that actually fits. The 26-inch barrel balances swing speed with sight radius—ideal for target work and field shooting alike.

At 7 pounds, the Viper G2 Youth is manageable for extended shooting sessions without fatigue. The 3-inch chamber handles both standard and magnum loads, giving you flexibility depending on your application and game. The gas-operated semi-auto platform cycles smoothly and runs reliably, which matters whether you're grinding through a round of skeet or hunting behind a dog.

This gun ships with a complete set of extended choke tubes—Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full—so you can dial in your pattern for tight clay targets or open it up for faster-crossing birds. The extended tubes let you change chokes quickly without tools, a practical feature for shooters who move between different stations or hunting scenarios. The 20-gauge with youth dimensions is particularly smart for someone building good habits early: the handling stays natural, the gun doesn't punish you, and you learn proper technique without fighting recoil.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Tristar Viper G2 Youth good for a young or smaller shooter?

Yes—it's designed specifically for youth and smaller-framed shooters. The 26-inch barrel and overall dimensions scale down, and 20-gauge recoil is significantly milder than 12-gauge. This makes it excellent for building fundamentals and comfort without the punishment of a full-size shotgun.

What chokes come with this shotgun?

The gun includes four extended choke tubes: Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full. Extended tubes allow tool-free changes between chokes, so you can quickly adapt to clay targets, upland birds, or waterfowl.

Can it shoot 3-inch shells?

Yes. The 3-inch chamber handles both standard 2.75-inch and 3-inch magnum loads, giving you flexibility in load selection depending on your hunting or clay shooting needs.

What are typical uses for this shotgun?

The Viper G2 Youth is well-suited to trap, skeet, upland bird hunting, and training new shooters. The gas-operated semi-auto runs reliably, the extended chokes let you match your pattern to the target, and the manageable recoil encourages good technique.
