The Tristar 33180 Cypher SP is a 12-gauge over/under shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who want reliable performance without breaking the bank. With a 30-inch barrel, walnut stock, and the versatility of interchangeable chokes, this is a genuine field gun—not a budget compromise. The steel receiver is engineered to handle the rigors of the hunt, while the ported barrels help manage recoil on longer shooting days. Whether you're working waterfowl, upland birds, or clays, the Cypher SP delivers the balance of durability and handling that makes a shotgun worth reaching for season after season.

The standout feature here is the CT-5 choke system, which gives you five extended chokes—Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full. That flexibility means you can dial in the right pattern for the distance and game without buying a different gun. Selective ejectors mean spent shells eject while duds stay put, saving you time in the field. The fiber optic front sight keeps your target picture clear in low light, which matters when you're hunting dawn or dusk.

Built with a deluxe walnut stock and finished to look the part, the Cypher SP carries itself with the kind of understated class that hunters respect. It's not flashy—it's just a shotgun that works, built to last, and priced to let you spend your money on ammunition and land access instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What chokes come with the Tristar Cypher SP?

The shotgun includes five CT-5 extended chokes: Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full. This gives you a wide range of shot patterns for different hunting and sport-shooting scenarios.

What's the advantage of the ported barrels?

Ported barrels reduce felt recoil and help manage muzzle rise, which means less fatigue during a long day in the field and faster follow-up shots. On a 30-inch barrel, porting also helps optimize the shot pattern.

Is the fiber optic sight useful for hunting?

Yes. The fiber optic front sight gathers ambient light and makes your target picture clearer during dawn, dusk, and overcast conditions—exactly when most waterfowl and upland hunting happens.

What's the difference between selective ejectors and extractors?

Selective ejectors automatically throw out fired shells while leaving unfired rounds in the chamber. With simple extractors, you'd have to manually remove both fired and unfired shells. On a hunting shotgun, ejectors save time and keep your reload smooth.
