The TriStar Cypher over/under shotgun brings affordable versatility to game hunting, clay shooting, and sport training. Built on a steel receiver with selective ejectors, the Cypher balances reliability with a clean, purposeful design that won't strain your budget. The 12-gauge 28-inch barrel pairs with a fiber optic front sight for quick target acquisition in the field or on the range, while the satin deluxe walnut stock delivers a classic look and solid handling that ages well with use.

This is a shotgun built for shooters who want dependable over/under performance without unnecessary frills. The steel construction and ejector system mean you spend less time fumbling with empties and more time on your next shot. Whether you're working through a duck blind, breaking clays on a weekend, or introducing a newcomer to shotgun sports, the Cypher's straightforward design and manageable recoil make it a practical choice.

The CT-5 extended choke system gives you flexibility to dial in your pattern for different game and distances. Swap between the Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full chokes to match your hunting conditions or shooting style—no gunsmithing required. The 28-inch barrel strikes a familiar balance for most shooters, offering good sight radius and swing without excessive weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

What chokes are included with the Cypher over/under?

The shotgun comes with five CT-5 extended chokes: Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full. This range covers most hunting and sport-shooting scenarios, so you can adapt quickly to different game and ranges without buying additional chokes.

Is the Cypher suitable for waterfowl and upland hunting?

Yes. The steel receiver handles the rigors of field work, the selective ejectors keep the workflow smooth, and the CT-5 choke variety lets you match your load to the situation—tight chokes for distance waterfowl, more open patterns for close-quarters upland work.

What gauge is this shotgun?

The TriStar Cypher 33160 is a 12-gauge, the most common and versatile shotgun gauge for hunting, sport shooting, and training.

Does it have an ejector or extractor?

The Cypher features selective ejectors, which automatically eject spent shells rather than just pushing them partway out of the chamber. This speeds up reloading and reduces fumbling in the field or at the range.
