The TriStar Trinity II Over/Under Shotgun in 16 gauge combines classic design with practical features for hunters and sport shooters who want a lightweight, classic shotgun without the heft of a 12 gauge. The 28-inch barrel strikes a balanced profile that's nimble in brush and woodland, yet still delivers effective shot patterns for upland game and clay shooting. Built on a steel receiver, this over/under is built to last through seasons of hunting and range days.

What sets the Trinity II apart is attention to the small details that matter in the field. The fiber optic sight makes acquiring targets quick and clear in low light—a genuine advantage during early morning hunts or overcast days. The satin select walnut furniture gives the shotgun traditional good looks while the wood still feels like a tool, not a showpiece. You'll appreciate the balanced handling when you're moving through cover or pivoting on waterfowl.

The gun comes ready to shoot with a set of CT-5 interchangeable chokes covering the spread from Cylinder through Full (C, IC, M, IM, F), so you can dial in the right constriction for your quarry and distance without buying extras. The extractors keep cleanup quick after a day of shooting. This is a no-frills, proven platform that does honest work—exactly what you want from a 16 gauge over/under.

Frequently Asked Questions

What chokes come with the Trinity II, and are they interchangeable?

The shotgun includes a complete set of CT-5 interchangeable chokes: Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full. You can swap them quickly to match your shooting situation without buying additional chokes.

Is the 16 gauge Trinity II a good choice for upland hunting?

Yes. The 16 gauge is lighter than a 12 and offers good balance with a 28-inch barrel, making it responsive in brush and woodland. The fiber optic sight helps with quick target pickup, and the choke set lets you dial in appropriate constriction for your game and range.

What type of ejection does this shotgun have?

The Trinity II is equipped with extractors, which remove spent cartridges from the chambers after firing. You'll need to manually remove them, as opposed to an ejector system that throws them clear automatically.

What's the difference between this steel receiver and an alloy or other material?

The steel receiver is chosen for durability and longevity. Steel is robust and handles years of use and recoil without degradation, making it a solid foundation for a shotgun meant to work hard in the field.
