The Taylors & Company Schofield .45 LC 6.5" revolver in blue finish brings authentic Old West handling to modern shooters who value classic single-action revolvers. This top-break design has genuine historical roots—the Schofield saw service in the late 1800s—and Taylors & Company's interpretation delivers that proven mechanics in a practical package. The 6.5-inch barrel strikes a balance between sight radius and overall handling, making it at home on the range, in cowboy action competition, or in the hands of traditional revolver enthusiasts who won't compromise on character.
The blue finish over steel gives you a clean, professional look that ages gracefully with honest use. The walnut grips with humped-back backstrap are shaped to fit the hand naturally and recall the original ergonomics that made this platform work for generations of shooters. At 2.50 pounds, it carries comfortably without being featherweight—there's enough mass to manage recoil in .45 LC, which matters when you're shooting all day. The blade front sight is straightforward and lets you focus on fundamentals rather than complicated optics.
Whether you're drawn to the history, the simplicity of the top-break action, or the inherent accuracy potential of a good revolver, this Schofield offers a real alternative to modern designs. It's built for shooters who understand that sometimes the old way is still the best way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this revolver suitable for cowboy action shooting?
Yes. The Schofield platform is popular in cowboy action competition, and the 6.5-inch barrel with blade sight works well for that discipline. The top-break action speeds reloading during stages.
What ammunition does the Taylors & Company Schofield use?
It fires .45 LC (Long Colt), one of the most common handloading calibers and readily available from ammunition suppliers.
How does the top-break action work?
Push the barrel latch forward and the barrel and cylinder swing down as one unit, exposing all six chambers at once for fast unloading and reloading—no need to remove spent cases one at a time.
Is the walnut grip comfortable for extended shooting sessions?
The humped-back backstrap design follows classic ergonomic lines that naturally cradle the hand. Comfort is subjective, but the shape has proven effective across generations of shooters. We recommend handling one before purchasing if possible.
