- Barrel Length:
- 7"
- Barrel Length Range:
- 7" to 7.99"
The Taylors & Company 2nd Model Schofield revolver in .45 LC with a 7-inch barrel is a faithful recreation of one of the Old West's most legendary firearms. Built on the principle of single-hand operation—a critical advantage for mounted cavalry troops—this break-open revolver lets you eject all six spent cases and reload without shifting your grip, making it ideal for horseback work or anyone who appreciates historically accurate firepower. The design proved itself in the hands of soldiers and legends alike, and this modern interpretation honors that legacy while delivering the reliability serious shooters expect.
The mechanics are refreshingly simple and effective. A rearward pull on the barrel latch breaks the frame open for rapid ejection and reload; the rear sight is integrated into that same latch for a clean, purposeful design. With a 12.75-inch overall length and a comfortable 7-inch barrel, the gun balances well whether you're practicing at the range or carrying it for hunting. The nickel finish with charcoal-blue screws gives it classic appeal without the fussiness of high-maintenance plating, and the two-piece walnut grips provide a solid, period-correct feel in your hand.
At just under three pounds, this .45 LC six-shooter won't fatigue you on a long day afield or at the range. Whether you're into cowboy action shooting, historical reenactment, or simply want a revolver with genuine character and proven mechanics, the Schofield delivers authenticity and shootability in one package.

Yes. The break-open design and rearward barrel latch allow you to eject spent cases and reload with one hand, which is why this gun was originally valued by mounted cavalry troops and remains practical for off-hand shooting today.
Is the rear sight easy to adjust?
The rear sight is a notch incorporated into the barrel latch itself, providing a clean, fixed sight picture. It's not adjustable, but it's been proven reliable in thousands of guns since the original design.
What grips come on the revolver?
Two-piece walnut grips are fitted at the factory and included on this model. They're hand-fit for a solid, comfortable grip that matches the gun's period styling.
What ammunition does it use?
This revolver is chambered in .45 LC (Colt), one of the most popular handloading cartridges and widely available commercially.
