The laser-engraved floral pattern adds genuine character without the premium price tag of hand-worked engravings—it's the kind of detail that transforms a functional gun into a gun you actually want to reach for.
Built on a new model forged steel frame with a white heat-treated finish, this Cattleman delivers the durability you'd expect from a Taylors & Company reproduction. The frame notch rear sight and fixed front sight blade keep things simple and reliable, while the Navy-size walnut grip fits most hands comfortably for extended shooting sessions. Whether you're a serious Cowboy Action competitor, a single-action enthusiast, or someone drawn to classic firearms, this is a working revolver dressed up to look the part.
The .45 LC chambering is the traditional cartridge for this iconic platform, and Taylors & Company's faithful 1873 design means you'll shoot a round that's been trusted in the American West for over 150 years. Frequently Asked Questions
What is Cowboy Action Shooting and will this revolver work for it?
Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) is a dynamic sport where competitors shoot period-correct firearms at steel targets while dressed in Old West-themed outfits. The Taylors & Company 1873 Cattleman is a popular choice for the sport because it replicates the guns used in the late 1800s and delivers the authentic single-action experience the sport demands.
Is the engraving real, and will it hold up to shooting and handling?
The floral pattern is laser-engraved into the steel frame with depth and detail. Laser engraving is permanent—it's cut into the metal itself, so it won't wear off with normal handling and shooting.
What size grip does this revolver have?
This model features a Navy-size walnut grip, which is the smaller of the two standard grip sizes for 1873-pattern single-action revolvers. It's ideal for shooters with average to smaller hands or those who prefer a more compact feel.
Can I shoot modern .45 LC ammunition in this gun?
This revolver is chambered in .45 LC. For safe and proper ammunition selection, consult the manufacturer's documentation and always follow safe shooting practices.
