The Taylors & Company 1873 Cattleman Engraved is a .357 Magnum revolver that brings genuine Old West character to your shooting bench or trail. With its 5.5-inch barrel, laser-engraved floral patterns hand-chased for depth, and white heat-treated steel finish, this six-shot single-action revolver isn't just functional—it's a conversation piece. Built on a forged frame, it carries the solid construction that made the 1873 design a legend, whether you're into Cowboy Action Shooting, historical reenactment, or you simply appreciate a revolver that looks as good as it shoots.
The .357 Magnum chambering gives you genuine versatility: shoot .38 Special rounds for softer recoil and lower cost at the range, or step up to full-power .357 loads for hunting or defense. Walnut grips and a blade front sight complete the classic profile. At 2.27 pounds and 11 inches overall, it carries and handles like a revolver should—balanced and responsive, whether you're drawing from leather or working through a string of targets. This is Taylors & Company's exclusive take on an icon, marrying period-correct aesthetics with the reliability shooters expect.
If you shoot single-action revolvers, run Cowboy Action matches, or hunt with traditional iron-sighted handguns, this Cattleman rewards both craftsmanship and accuracy. The engraved steel finish catches light in all the right ways, but the real story is in how it performs. Taylors & Company revolvers are purpose-built, and the 1873 design has earned its place in shooting history for good reason.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I shoot .38 Special in this .357 Magnum revolver?
Yes. The .357 Magnum chamber safely handles .38 Special ammunition, making it a versatile choice for both target practice on a budget and full-power hunting loads.
Is this revolver suitable for Cowboy Action Shooting?
Yes. The 1873 Cattleman single-action design and 5.5-inch barrel fit the requirements and spirit of Cowboy Action competitions. Check your specific match rules for any engraving or finish restrictions.
What does "laser-engraved and hand-chased" mean?
The revolver's frame is decorated with a laser-engraved floral pattern that is then hand-chased—meaning a craftsman deepens and refines the lines by hand—to create a three-dimensional, more authentic engraved appearance.
What is the white heat-treated steel finish?
White heat-treated steel is a finish applied during heat-treatment that provides a silvery appearance and corrosion resistance characteristic of vintage revolvers. It requires normal firearm maintenance and oiling to preserve.
