The Taurus Tracker 692 is a versatile 7-shot revolver built for shooters who want flexibility without buying multiple guns. This medium-frame .357 Mag/.38 Spl +P/9mm revolver features a 3-inch barrel—compact enough for everyday carry or defensive use, yet substantial enough to handle range sessions with confidence. What sets the 692 apart is its multi-caliber capability: swap the cylinder and you're shooting 9mm, .38 Special +P, or .357 Magnum from the same platform. It's practical, no-nonsense engineering for hunters, sport shooters, and anyone serious about backup or home defense.
The 692 handles recoil aggressively through its ported barrel, helping you track targets faster on follow-up shots. Double-action/single-action operation gives you the safety of a heavy trigger pull in DA mode or the speed and precision of a lighter SA break when you're ready. The adjustable rear sight and fixed front sight are straightforward—no batteries, no electronics—so you can trust your zero in the field or at the range. Taurus's Ribber Grip is designed to absorb punishment and maintain control, even during extended shooting sessions or in defensive scenarios where your hands might be anything but dry.
At 35.27 ounces with a matte black finish, the Tracker 692 Medium strikes a balance between durability and portability. The spurred hammer is accessible for deliberate single-action work, and the transfer bar safety mechanism provides an extra layer of protection. Stella clips come included, so you're ready to load and shoot immediately. This is a working revolver for working people—no flash, just reliable multi-caliber capability in a proven platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I shoot 9mm, .38 Special, and .357 Magnum in the same revolver?
Yes. The Taurus Tracker 692 comes with interchangeable cylinders so you can swap between .357 Magnum, .38 Special +P, and 9mm Luger. You'll need the appropriate cylinder for each caliber, and Stella clips are included to support fast reloading with 9mm.
Is the Tracker 692 a good carry gun?
At 35.27 ounces with a 3-inch barrel, the 692 Medium is compact and balanced enough for belt carry or bag carry without excessive bulk. The spurred hammer can snag in a holster if you're not careful, so choose a holster designed for it. The multi-caliber flexibility and 7-round capacity make it practical for both defensive and recreational use.
What's included in the box?
Each Tracker 692 comes with Stella clips, which are used to support faster reloading, especially with 9mm ammunition. The revolver ships ready to shoot once you load ammunition and verify function.
How does the ported barrel help performance?
The ported barrel vents gases upward to counteract muzzle rise and reduce felt recoil, allowing faster follow-up shots and improved shot placement. This is particularly useful when shooting full-power .357 Magnum loads or during defensive training.
