The Taurus Raging Hunter is a seven-shot .357 Magnum revolver built for hunters and shooters who want genuine stopping power and accuracy in a big-bore package. With its 8.37-inch barrel and stainless finish, this large-frame revolver delivers the ballistics needed for short- to medium-range hunting while remaining manageable enough for extended shooting sessions. The angular barrel design keeps overall weight down without compromising durability, and factory-tuned porting with a gas expansion chamber helps manage recoil so you stay on target faster between shots.

Whether you're hunting medium game or pushing your skills at the range, the Raging Hunter chambers both .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P loads, giving you flexibility in your ammunition choices. The double-action/single-action trigger works smoothly, and the cushioned grip insert absorbs felt recoil while keeping your hold secure. Fixed front and adjustable rear sights let you dial in your zero for your preferred distance, and the transfer bar safety mechanism provides reliable protection when handling.

This is a serious handgun for serious hunters—one that earned the 2019 American Hunter Handgun of the Year Golden Bullseye Award for good reason. The stainless construction resists corrosion during long days in the field, and the large-frame design gives you enough real estate to shoot comfortably and control the gun's power. If you're looking for a revolver that bridges the gap between hunting utility and range performance, the Taurus Raging Hunter is worth your attention.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this revolver good for hunting?

The Taurus Raging Hunter combines a 8.37-inch barrel for better velocity and sight radius with factory porting that reduces muzzle lift, helping you stay accurate during follow-up shots. The .357 Magnum chambering is effective for short- to medium-range hunting scenarios, and the seven-shot capacity gives you more ammunition on hand than typical hunting revolvers.

Can I shoot .38 Special in this revolver?

Yes, the Raging Hunter is chambered in both .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P, so you can load either round. This flexibility lets you choose a load suited to your hunting conditions or use lighter practice ammunition at the range.

Is the Raging Hunter suitable for range shooting as well as hunting?

Absolutely. The adjustable rear sight lets you dial in your point of aim for different distances, and the large frame and cushioned grips make extended shooting sessions comfortable. Many shooters use it for both field hunting and accuracy practice.

What's the advantage of the angular barrel design?

The angular barrel reduces overall weight compared to a traditional rounded barrel, making the gun less fatiguing to carry and handle during long hunting trips without sacrificing the strength you need for .357 Magnum loads.
