The Stevens 334 .243 Win bolt-action rifle brings honest, no-nonsense performance to hunters and target shooters who value reliability over flash. This Model 18839 pairs a free-floating, button-rifled barrel with a Turkish walnut stock and silver bolt—a classic look that appeals to shooters who appreciate traditional rifle aesthetics alongside modern mechanical function. At this price point, the 334 punches well above its weight for deer hunting, varmint work, and range time.

The 60-degree bolt lift with three locking lugs lets you work the action fast on follow-up shots, while the two-stage adjustable trigger gives you control over break and reset. The receiver is drilled and tapped (Savage M110 spacing) and includes a steel Picatinny rail, so mounting glass or backup iron sights is straightforward. Three-position safety, sling swivel studs, and a recoil pad round out a rifle designed for hunters who want to spend time in the field rather than tweaking gear.

.243 Winchester remains one of the most versatile rifle cartridges for North American hunting—flat-shooting enough for longer-range work on smaller game and varmints, yet manageable recoil in a rifle this handy. The three-round detachable box magazine keeps things simple and reliable, and the ergonomic stock fits a wide range of shooter frames without fussiness.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scope mounts and bases fit the Stevens 334?

The receiver is drilled and tapped to Savage M110 spacing, so any base designed for M110-pattern receivers will work. The rifle comes equipped with a steel Picatinny rail for direct-mount rings or tactical accessories, giving you flexible optic options.

Is this rifle suitable for hunting deer and varmints?

.243 Winchester is a versatile, flat-shooting cartridge effective on deer-sized game out to moderate range, and it's a proven varmint round for coyotes, prairie dogs, and similar quarry. The free-floating barrel and adjustable trigger support the accuracy you'll need for both applications.

What comes in the box?

You receive the rifle with the three-round detachable box magazine, Picatinny rail, and sling swivel studs already installed. Scope, mounts, ammunition, and sling are not included.

How does the adjustable trigger work?

The two-stage adjustable trigger lets you dial in both the initial stage and final break to suit your shooting style and preference, improving precision compared to a fixed trigger.
