Optic Ready/Serrated

The SCCY CPX-3 RDR Gen 3 is a slim, lightweight .380 ACP pistol built for everyday carry and backup defense. At just 15 ounces and 5.7 inches overall length, it's one of the most concealable pistols you can get without sacrificing usable capacity or reliability. The red-dot-ready slide accepts popular micro optics, giving you modern aiming options in a gun small enough to pocket or appendix carry—a rare combo in the compact .380 space.

SCCY engineered the CPX-3 Gen 3 as a straightforward, no-frills DAO (double-action-only) platform. The 9-pound trigger and simple manual-of-arms make it predictable for defensive draws, and there's nothing to snag on your shirt or holster on the way out. The optimized recoil system tames .380 blast in such a diminutive frame, and the stainless steel slide over polymer frame keeps overall weight minimal without sacrificing durability. Capacity runs 10+1, giving you a realistic mag-in-hand and one ready to go—respectable for a gun this size.

G-43 style sights come standard, and the slide is machined red-dot ready so you can mount a modern micro optic if you choose. It's the kind of flexibility that lets you build the carry gun that fits your personal defense philosophy, whether that's iron-sights reliability or red-dot speed. The SCCY blue finish is clean, professional, and holds up to daily carry wear.

This is a gun for shooters who value concealment and simplicity over features. It's a proven pocket or appendix option, a reliable second gun, or a no-regrets truck console pistol. If you're serious about a slim, light .380 that actually works, the CPX-3 RDR Gen 3 earns a close look.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the red-dot-ready version different from a standard CPX-3?

This model's slide is milled and ready for direct mounting of micro red-dot optics. If you prefer iron sights only, that works too—the red-dot cuts don't interfere with standard sight use. The optical-mounting capability lets you modernize your carry gun without gunsmiths or permanent modifications.

Is the CPX-3 RDR Gen 3 reliable for self-defense?

We can tell you the specs: DAO, 9-lb. trigger, stainless slide, optimized recoil system, and 10+1 capacity. The gun is engineered for daily carry and defensive use. Reliability and suitability for self-defense depend on your training, your chosen ammunition, and your comfort with the platform—all questions worth discussing with us before purchase.

Can I pocket carry the CPX-3 RDR Gen 3?

At 5.7" overall length, 1.1" width, and 15 oz., yes—it's one of the most pocketable 10+1 pistols available. A good pocket holster is essential for safe and secure carry, but the gun itself is definitely compact enough for that role.
