The Savage Arms Stevens 301 is a no-frills, go-anywhere single-shot 12-gauge shotgun built for hunters who value reliability and simplicity over complexity. Break-action shotguns have proven themselves in the field for generations, and the Stevens 301 carries that tradition forward with a rugged synthetic stock, crisp action, and straightforward operation that works just as well on day one as it does after years of hard use. If you hunt upland game, waterfowl, or work around the homestead, this is honest, dependable hardware that won't demand constant fussing.

The 26-inch barrel with a removable modified choke tube gives you flexibility to match your load and shot distance, while the 3-inch chamber handles the full range of 12-gauge ammunition. The synthetic stock shrugs off rain, mud, and temperature swings—no wood to crack or swell—and the soft recoil pad keeps shooting manageable throughout the day. At just 5.85 pounds, it's light enough to carry all morning without fatigue. A manual hammer-blocking safety and 2-position safety lever keep you in control, and the forearm release makes field disassembly straightforward when you need to clean or pack it away.

The Stevens 301 isn't trying to be trendy or loaded with bells. It's a single-shot that does one job well: point, aim, and deliver. Whether you're a young shooter learning the fundamentals, a hunter who appreciates simplicity, or someone looking for a solid utility shotgun that won't break the bank, this is honest value.
