The Savage A17 semi-automatic rifle in .17 HMR is a purpose-built rimfire designed from the ground up for serious shooters who demand accuracy and reliability in a lightweight platform. This isn't a repurposed .22 rimfire—Savage engineered the A17 specifically around the ballistics and performance characteristics of the .17 HMR cartridge, giving you a rifle that cycles smoothly and shoots tight groups right out of the box. The gray laminate stock and heavy 22-inch button-rifled barrel strike a practical balance between weight and accuracy, making it equally at home on the bench or in the field for varmint hunting and small-game pursuits.
The delayed-blowback action is the mechanical heart of the A17's reliability story. Where other semi-auto rimfires struggle or choke on standard loads, Savage's design cycles confidently with factory ammunition, no tweaking required. The hard chrome bolt and case-hardened receiver stand up to repeated firing, and the 10-round rotary magazine keeps you shooting without fumbling with loose rounds. An oversized bolt handle makes operation smooth in cold weather or with gloved hands—a small detail that matters when you're actually hunting.
Accuracy comes standard with the user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which lets you dial in a clean, crisp pull tailored to your preference. Combined with the heavy barrel and laminated wood stock (which resists warping from temperature and humidity swings), you'll find the A17 capable of sub-MOA performance when paired with quality ammunition. This is a rifle built for shooters who understand that rimfire doesn't mean compromise.
