The Savage Arms SAV AC30 Black suppressor delivers serious sound reduction for precision rifles and tactical shooting without the bulk or complexity. Built from 100% machined 7075-T6 aluminum with a titanium thread insert, this direct-thread suppressor is engineered for hunters and range shooters who want genuine hearing protection in a compact, durable package. At 7.9 inches long and weighing just 10.8 ounces, it won't throw off your rifle's balance or handling, and the modular design means you can swap the core and end cap to suit different loads and shooting scenarios.

Sound reduction sits in the mid-130s decibels on popular hunting rounds—134.7 dB on a 6.5 Creedmoor with an 18-inch barrel, and 136.6 dB on a .300 Win Mag from a 20-inch tube. That's meaningful hearing protection in the field or at the range. The SAV AC30 handles anything up to .300 PRC, including .300 Win Mag, .308 Win, .300 Blackout, 7mm PRC, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 6.5 PRC. Built-in self-cleaning carbon cutters reduce fouling over time, and the hard-coat anodized finish stands up to field use and weather.

This is a serialized, NFA-registered item—you'll need a Form 4 tax stamp and approval before you take possession. Once you do, you've got a suppressor that balances performance, modularity, and rugged reliability. The direct-thread mount with titanium insert threads in at 5/8-24, standard for most modern centerfire rifles. Keep thermal cycling in mind during extended shooting: let the suppressor cool to ambient temperature between sustained firing strings (the spec calls for no more than 20 rounds per second or so before a cooling break).

If you're a long-range hunter, competitive shooter, or tactical rifle enthusiast looking to protect your hearing and reduce report without carrying a dedicated muzzle brake, the Savage SAV AC30 delivers the kind of practical, no-nonsense engineering you expect from a rifle manufacturer putting their name on the can.

Frequently Asked Questions

What calibers can the SAV AC30 handle?

The SAV AC30 is rated for centerfire rifles from .300 Blackout up to .300 PRC, including .300 Win Mag, .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 7mm PRC, and others in that range. Check your specific cartridge against the rated list if you're uncertain.

Do I need a tax stamp to own this suppressor?

Yes. The SAV AC30 is a serialized, NFA-regulated silencer. You'll need to submit a Form 4, pay the federal tax, and receive approval from the ATF before you can legally take possession.

What do the sound reduction numbers mean, and how much hearing protection will I get?

Sound reduction is measured in decibels. The SAV AC30 produces 134.7 dB on a 6.5 Creedmoor with an 18-inch barrel and 136.6 dB on a .300 Win Mag with a 20-inch barrel. Those figures represent meaningful hearing protection compared to unsuppressed fire, though all centerfire rifles remain loud enough to warrant proper hearing protection even with a quality suppressor.

What's included with the suppressor, and what do I need to mount it?

The SAV AC30 comes with a direct-thread mount with a 5/8-24 pitch and titanium thread insert. Your rifle needs a barrel threaded to 5/8-24 to accept it. Confirm your barrel's threading before ordering.
