SAV AC22 Black Suppressor - High-Performance Noise Reduction Accessory
- Finish-Color:
- Black
The Savage Arms AC22 Black suppressor is a modular rimfire silencer engineered for shooters who want effective sound reduction without the weight penalty. Built from machined 7075-T6 aluminum and 6Al-4V titanium with hard coat anodizing, this direct-thread suppressor delivers genuine hearing protection for .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR firearms. At just 3.5 ounces and 5.9 inches long, it won't throw off your rifle's balance or sight picture, making it ideal for backyard plinking, small-game hunting, or precision rimfire work where noise matters but bulk doesn't.
The AC22 uses a 1/2-28 thread pitch and installs via direct thread mounting—no adapters or pistons needed. Its modular design means you can swap the core and end cap to tailor performance or field-strip for cleaning. The built-in self-cleaning carbon cutters help keep things running smooth between detail sessions, a practical touch for high-volume shooters.
Sound reduction runs 114 dB with subsonic ammo and 135 dB with supersonic loads, enough to make the difference between a pleasant shooting session and ringing ears. The .22 LR fires full-auto suppressed; .17 HMR and .22 WMR are semi-auto only. If you run multiple rimfire hosts or just want a lightweight, durable can that handles the job without fuss, the AC22 earns its place on your rifle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the AC22 fit my .22 LR rifle?
If your rifle has a 1/2-28 threaded barrel, yes—the AC22 uses direct thread mounting with no adapters needed. Check your barrel's thread pitch before purchase; 1/2-28 is standard on most modern .22 LR rifles, but older or custom builds may differ.
Can I use this suppressor on .22 WMR and .17 HMR?
Yes, the AC22 handles all three calibers: .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR. Note that .22 LR is rated for full-auto fire, while .22 WMR and .17 HMR are semi-auto only.
How do I clean the AC22?
The modular design lets you unscrew the end cap and remove the core for cleaning. Built-in self-cleaning carbon cutters help manage fouling, but field disassembly is straightforward for detailed maintenance between range trips.
What kind of sound reduction should I expect?
You'll get 114 dB suppression with subsonic ammunition and 135 dB with supersonic loads—enough for hearing protection and a significant quality-of-life improvement on a rimfire rifle, especially in high-volume shooting sessions.
