The Rossi R95 lever-action rifle in .30-30 Winchester is a working gun built for hunters who respect tradition and reliability. Lever guns have powered American deer camps for over a century, and the R95 carries that legacy forward with a 20-inch barrel, manageable 5-round tube magazine capacity, and a straightforward mechanical design that asks for nothing but proper maintenance. If you hunt timber, canyons, or brush where quick follow-up shots matter and a scope isn't required, or if you simply prefer iron sights and the smooth, instinctive feel of working a lever, this is a rifle that won't apologize for being what it is.

The rifle ships with a pair of fixed iron sights: a buckhorn rear sight for quick target acquisition and a windage-adjustable front sight for zeroing. The receiver is drilled and tapped for an 8-40 scope mount, so adding glass later is straightforward if your hunting evolves. The black oxide finish on the metal and hardwood walnut stock give it a classic, no-fuss appearance—this is function over flash. Sling mounts are fitted, so you can rig it for slinging across your back on a long hike into the woods.

At its core, a .30-30 Winchester lever gun is a proven medicine for whitetail, mule deer, and similar game at typical hunting ranges. The cartridge is forgiving, ammunition is plentiful, and the platform is inherently accurate enough for field shooting. The R95 is also naturally compact compared to bolt actions, which helps in tight cover and when you're moving through brush. This is a rifle that fits the hunting tradition many of us grew up with—and one that still works.
