The Remington 870 Tac-14 is a pump-action 12-gauge shotgun built on the legendary 870 platform, engineered for shooters who want a compact, maneuverable defensive or tactical shotgun. This isn't a short-barreled regulated firearm—it's a non-NFA item that delivers the reliability of America's most trusted shotgun in a shorter, handy profile. The Tac-14 pairs the proven 870 mechanics with modern ergonomics: a Shockwave Raptor pistol grip for control and a Magpul M-Lok compatible fore-end that accepts tactical accessories. Whether you're setting up a truck gun, home-defense platform, or just want a no-compromise tactical shotgun you can maneuver in tight spaces, the Tac-14 gives you the 870's legendary durability without the bureaucratic overhead.
The receiver is milled from solid steel billet—no stamped shortcuts—and finished in black oxide for corrosion resistance and a professional look. The 14-inch cylinder-bore barrel keeps your shot pattern open for close-quarters work, and the integrated bead sight gives you a fast target acquisition point. The pump action cycles smoothly and reliably, and the 4+1 capacity (four in the tube, one in the chamber) provides meaningful firepower in a compact platform. Everything here is American-made, which matters when you're betting your safety on a shotgun.
This is a serious tool for serious shooters. If you run an AR-15 on your nightstand or in your truck, the Tac-14's ergonomics and M-Lok compatibility will feel familiar. It doesn't require a tax stamp, doesn't need registration in most states, and works exactly like the 870 millions of shooters already know. Pair it with a light, a sling, and quality ammunition, and you've got a compact, powerful defensive platform that won't quit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Remington 870 Tac-14 an NFA item that requires a tax stamp?
No. The Tac-14 is a non-NFA shotgun, meaning it does not require federal registration, a tax stamp, or compliance with short-barrel shotgun restrictions. It's a legal, unrestricted firearm in most states.
What's included with the fore-end—can I mount a light or other accessories?
The Magpul M-Lok fore-end is compatible with M-Lok mounting systems, so you can attach tactical lights, lasers, and other gear designed for that standard. Specific accessories are sold separately.
How does the Raptor pistol grip affect shooting and control?
The Shockwave Raptor grip is designed to provide a secure, ergonomic hold and reduce perceived recoil impulse compared to a traditional pistol grip. It aids control and target reacquisition during rapid fire.
What choke is the 14-inch barrel, and what's it best for?
The Tac-14 features a cylinder-bore barrel, which produces an open pattern. This is ideal for close-quarters and defensive applications where you need fast shot placement and spread at indoor distances.
