The Remington 870 Tac-14 20 gauge pump action shotgun brings the legendary reliability of the Model 870 platform into a compact, maneuverable package purpose-built for home defense. At 26.3 inches overall with a 14-inch barrel, this 20 gauge delivers serious stopping power in tight spaces—hallways, vehicles, and confined entry points where a full-length shotgun becomes a liability. The 870 Tac-14 is built on decades of pump-gun proven performance; Remington's simple, rugged action cycles smoothly under stress and demands virtually nothing to keep running right.

Ergonomics matter when seconds count. This Tac-14 ships with a Raptor pistol grip that locks your hand in place under recoil and a Magpul M-Lok compatible forend, so you can mount lights, lasers, or other accessories without gunsmithing. The 20 gauge round delivers genuine defensive energy while producing manageable recoil for fast follow-up shots. A fixed bead sight gets you on target quickly in low-light scenarios—no batteries, no failure points.

At 5.6 pounds and purpose-designed for close-quarters work, the 870 Tac-14 fills the gap between a handgun and a rifle for home defense. Load it with a 4+1 capacity, keep the cylinder-bore barrel clean, and you've got a tool that will run when you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Remington 870 Tac-14 good for home defense?

Yes. The 870 Tac-14 was engineered specifically for defensive use in confined spaces. Its 14-inch barrel and 26.3-inch overall length make it highly maneuverable in hallways and doorways, while the 20 gauge cartridge delivers substantial stopping power with manageable recoil for follow-up shots. The pump action is simple, reliable, and functions under stress without electronic components.

Can I mount accessories to the 870 Tac-14?

Yes. The Magpul M-Lok forend allows you to attach lights, lasers, and other tactical accessories using standard M-Lok mounting hardware. This lets you customize the shotgun for your specific defensive setup without permanent modifications.

What ammunition does the Remington 870 Tac-14 use?

The 870 Tac-14 is chambered in 20 gauge. It holds 4 rounds in the magazine plus 1 in the chamber for a total capacity of 4+1. The cylinder-bore barrel is optimized for typical defensive shotgun loads.

Is the Raptor pistol grip required for the 870 Tac-14?

The Raptor pistol grip comes standard on this model. It provides secure hand purchase and control during operation. Remington stocks it as the grip of choice for this tactical platform.
