416 Stainless Steel Flued

The Remington 700 .243 Winchester rifle with 24" silver barrel is a time-tested platform for hunters and precision shooters who want a lightweight, accurate setup without breaking the bank. Built on Remington's legendary Model 700 bolt-action receiver, this rifle chambers the versatile .243 Winchester—a round that delivers flat trajectory and mild recoil, making it ideal for varmint hunting, predator control, and medium-game pursuits where accuracy matters more than raw power. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in wet conditions, and the matte black synthetic stock keeps weight down and maintenance simple.

At 7.375 pounds, this rifle won't tire you on a long hunt or day at the range. The 24-inch barrel balances velocity and handling, and the 1:9.125 twist rate stabilizes .243 Winchester ammunition across the spectrum of available loads. Four-round magazine capacity keeps things practical for hunting situations. The ergonomic proportions—13.375" length of pull, 1.125" drop at comb, 1.375" drop at heel—work well for shooters in standard tactical gear or hunting clothes, though you may want to try before you buy if you're outside typical sizing or shoot in heavy winter layers.

This is a straightforward, proven hunting rifle for shooters who value reliability and accuracy over trendy features. The 700 platform accepts a massive aftermarket ecosystem of stocks, triggers, and accessories if you want to customize down the road, but right out of the box it's ready for the field or range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the .243 Winchester good for?

The .243 Winchester is a versatile, flat-shooting cartridge with minimal recoil. It excels at varmint and predator hunting, and is suitable for medium-game like deer when you use appropriate ammunition. The low recoil makes it accessible for newer or smaller-framed shooters, and the inherent accuracy makes it popular for target work and competitive shooting.

Will this rifle work with aftermarket Remington 700 parts and stocks?

Yes. The Remington 700 bolt-action platform has a massive aftermarket ecosystem. You can upgrade triggers, stocks, chassis systems, and other components to customize the rifle to your preferences or shooting style.

Is the stainless steel barrel truly corrosion-resistant?

Stainless steel is far more corrosion-resistant than standard blued carbon steel, making it a good choice for wet or humid hunting environments. However, no steel is completely immune to rust; proper care and occasional maintenance will keep it in good condition.

What comes with the rifle?

The rifle ships as described—bolt-action .243 Winchester with 24" stainless barrel, synthetic stock, and 4-round magazine. Scope, rings, ammunition, and other accessories are not included and must be purchased separately.
