The Riley Defense RAK556 5.56 Poly Krink with faux can is a compact semi-automatic rifle built on AK-pattern mechanics and chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. At 36.25 inches overall with an 8.5-inch barrel, it delivers the handling and ergonomics shooters appreciate in a maneuverable platform, while the pinned faux suppressor keeps it legal as a rifle. This is a gun for shooters who want classic Kalashnikov reliability and controls in a modern intermediate cartridge—whether you're running drills at the range, training in close quarters, or building a versatile AR-alternative for the precision-focused builder.
The receiver is fully heat-treated and mil-spec stamped steel, paired with a 4150 Nitride barrel finished to military specs for durability and corrosion resistance. The bolt carrier group is hard-working—chrome-lined piston, forged carrier, forged bolt—built to run reliably through extended shooting sessions. A spring-loaded firing pin and hinged dust cover protect the internals from debris. Controls are arranged for intuitive operation: bolt hold open safety lever, extended magazine release, and a gas block/front sight combo that establishes a sight plane out of the box.
The furniture balances ruggedness with function. A serrated upper hand guard gives you solid grip purchase in any condition, while the lower hand guard sports a stainless steel heat shield to protect your support hand when the barrel gets hot. The side-folding metal stock lets you collapse the gun for transport or storage without sacrificing a proper cheek weld when you're ready to shoot. A machined side rail accepts optics or other tactical accessories. Finished in black oxide, fed by standard 30-round AK magazines, this Krink handles like a rifle and shoots like one too.

Frequently Asked Questions
What magazines work with the RAK556 Krink?
The RAK556 accepts standard 30-round AK-pattern magazines. Its semi-automatic, closed-bolt design is optimized for reliable feeding with traditional AK mag geometry.
Can I remove the faux suppressor?
The suppressor is pinned to the barrel to meet legal rifle configuration requirements. Do not attempt to remove it, as doing so may create an illegal short-barreled rifle.
Is the side-folding stock sturdy for shooting?
Yes. The side-folding metal stock is engineered to lock firmly in the deployed position, providing a solid shooting platform. When folded, it reduces overall length for transport and storage.
What optics or accessories can I mount on the side rail?
The machined scope mount side rail accommodates standard tactical rail systems and allows you to attach optics, lights, lasers, or other rail-compatible accessories for your mission or shooting application.
