The Pietta 1873 GW II Californian is a faithful recreation of the legendary single-action revolver that defined the American West—and it's built to shoot as well as it looks. Chambered in .45 Long Colt with a 5.50" barrel and 6-round capacity, this color case-hardened beauty bridges history and modern craftsmanship in a way that appeals equally to Cowboy Action shooters, historical reenactors, and anyone who appreciates a revolver that actually performs. Unlike purely decorative reproductions, Pietta's Great Western II is engineered to be reliable and durable enough for serious shooting.

The construction tells the story: hammer-forged steel barrels paired with drop-forged, CNC-machined frames ensure strength and consistency that mass-casting simply can't match. Period-correct touches like the floating firing pin in the hammer and color case-hardened frame give you that authentic Colt feel, but Pietta's modern manufacturing means tighter tolerances and more reliable ignition than originals ever had. The walnut grips are comfortable and traditional, fitting the profile without fuss.

Sight picture matters when you're shooting, and Pietta recognized that: the wider rear sight and larger front sight are genuine upgrades over the original design, making faster, more confident target acquisition possible whether you're at the range or in a Cowboy Action match. This isn't a safe queen—it's a working gun dressed in historic clothes.
