The Mossberg Super Bantam 12 gauge shotgun is a compact, hard-working 18.5" pump that punches above its weight for hunters and sport shooters who need versatility without the bulk. Built on Mossberg's proven 590S platform, this 9-round shotgun cycles everything from 1.75" short shells to full 3" magnum loads—no adapter needed, no ammo sorting required. Load whatever you've got in the magazine and go. That flexibility, combined with its adjustable length of pull (12–13 inches) and synthetic black stock, makes it a go-to choice for younger shooters, smaller-framed hunters, or anyone who values a maneuverable, responsive gun in tight cover or home-defense scenarios.

The 590S engineering here is no joke: dual extractors, twin action bars, and positive steel-to-steel lockup deliver smooth, reliable cycling under real-world conditions. The anti-jam elevator and newly redesigned bolt slide keep things running clean when it matters. The matte blue metal finish and synthetic furniture are built to handle the bumps and brushy access roads that come with the hunting lifestyle, and the energy-absorbing bumper helps manage recoil impulse. An ambidextrous safety means both left and right-handed shooters operate it naturally, and the top-mounted design keeps your hand in position.

This shotgun arrives optic-ready, so if you're thinking red dot or slug gun setup, the rail is there waiting. The bead sight handles buckshot and bird shot out of the box. At 37.75 inches overall and 6.75 pounds, it's light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to handle the 3-inch magnum loads you might need for late-season ducks or hogs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really load different shell lengths in the same magazine?

Yes. The 590S platform cycles 1.75", 2.75", and 3" shells interchangeably. You can load a mix of different lengths in the magazine and the shotgun will feed and cycle them all without an adapter or adjustment. That flexibility is one of the defining features of this gun.

What is the length of pull, and can it be adjusted?

The stock features an adjustable length of pull between 12 and 13 inches, controlled by a spacer. This range makes the gun comfortable for shooters with varying frame sizes—especially useful for younger shooters or anyone who prefers a shorter pull.

Does this shotgun have a rail for optics?

Yes, the Super Bantam is optic-ready with a top-mounted rail. It also includes a bead sight for standard shotgun shooting. The rail lets you mount a red dot, ghost ring sight, or other optic if you want to run a slug gun setup or tactical configuration.

What's the capacity with different shell lengths?

The magazine holds up to 9 rounds of 1.75" shells, 6 rounds of 2.75" shells, or 5 rounds of 3" magnum shells, plus one in the chamber. The exact load-out depends on which shell length you're running.
