The Mossberg 940 Waterfowl 12 gauge shotgun is a modern semi-automatic built for serious waterfowl hunters and upland shooters who demand reliability in harsh field conditions. With its 28" vent-rib barrel, optic-ready receiver, and corrosion-resistant internals, this gas-operated shotgun handles wet blinds, muddy pits, and salt spray without breaking stride. The adjustable length of pull—ranging from 13" to 14.25"—means it fits a wider range of shooters straight out of the box, while the synthetic TrueTimber Viper Snow finish provides both durability and effective camouflage.

What sets the 940 Waterfowl apart is its attention to the details that matter in unforgiving environments. The boron-nitride coated gas piston, chrome-lined chamber and bore, and stainless steel return spring work together to shed water and resist corrosion. The drilled and tapped receiver accepts Shield RMSc-pattern micro dot sights directly for faster target acquisition, and the patent-pending optic-ready cuts mean you can mount your sight of choice without gunsmithing. Mossberg's X-Factor extended tube choke and quick-empty magazine release keep you swift when birds are working.

At 7.75 pounds and 48.75" overall, the 940 Waterfowl points naturally and handles like a shotgun should. The self-draining stock keeps water out of critical areas, and the adjustable drop at comb lets you dial in your sight picture. The included HI-VIZ CompSight fiber optic front sight gives you a bright reference point in low light, and the four-round magazine capacity meets most waterfowl and upland hunting regulations.
