The Mossberg 940 Waterfowl 12 gauge shotgun is a purpose-built semi-automatic for serious waterfowl hunters who need reliability in demanding conditions. Built on a clean-running gas system, the 940's corrosion-resistant internals—including a boron-nitride coated gas piston, stainless steel return spring, and chrome-lined chamber and bore—are engineered to handle wet blinds, salt spray, and the grime of season-long hunts. The 28" vent-rib barrel carries a Cerakote Patriot Brown finish that blends form and function, while the vintage Shadowgrass synthetic stock delivers the classic waterfowl aesthetic hunters expect.

This 12 gauge comes optic-ready with patent-pending receiver cuts that accept Shield RMSc-pattern micro dot sights directly, letting you mount your preferred red dot for faster target acquisition in low light. A fiber optic front sight comes standard, and the drilled and tapped receiver gives you flexibility if you prefer traditional scope mounting down the road. The quick-empty magazine release keeps your workflow smooth when you're switching loads or clearing the gun, and the 4-round capacity handles most waterfowl situations without excess bulk.

Fit and comfort matter on long hunts. The adjustable length of pull (13–14.25") and adjustable drop-at-comb and cast on the stock let you dial in the gun to your frame and shooting style—crucial for consistency in the blind and reduced recoil fatigue. The self-draining stock sheds water, and the X-Factor extended choke tube gives you tuning options for different shot patterns and distances. At 7.75 pounds with an overall length of 48.75", the 940 is nimble enough for walk-ups yet stable enough for all-day sitting.

Whether you're a hardwater duck hunter, marsh guide, or seasonal wingshooter, the 940 Waterfowl delivers the corrosion resistance, ergonomics, and modern adaptability serious hunters demand.
