The Mossberg 590S optic-ready 12 gauge pump-action shotgun brings genuine versatility to home defense, sport shooting, and tactical applications. Built on the proven Mossberg platform, the 590S stands out for one core feature: it cycles 1.75-inch short shells, 2.75-inch standard shells, and 3-inch magnum loads interchangeably—no adapters, no swapping out the magazine tube, no guesswork. Load whatever combination of shell lengths fits your mission, and the gun handles them all without adjustment. With a 13-round capacity, 20-inch barrel, and factory-ready optic mount, this is a modern fighting shotgun that doesn't ask you to compromise on ammunition flexibility or firepower.
The action speaks Mossberg reliability: dual extractors, twin action bars, and positive steel-to-steel lockup ensure smooth, snag-free cycling even under hard use. The redesigned elevator bolt, slide, and energy-absorbing bumper smooth out recoil and reduce wear. An ambidextrous safety keeps the gun accessible whether you're left- or right-handed, and the synthetic stock with M-Lok forend is purpose-built for mounting lights, grips, or slings. The matte blue finish on the barrel and receiver resists corrosion and shows a clean, business-like appearance.
Out of the box, the 590S wears a bead sight and ships with a Cylinder Bore Accu-Choke installed—you can swap chokes to tune patterns for your load. The optic-ready top rail accepts most common red-dot sights and magnified optics, letting you outfit it for the job at hand. At 7.25 pounds with a fixed 13.87-inch length of pull, it balances control and pointability. Whether you're running it for home defense, clay sports, or tactical training, the 590S gives you the flexibility to choose your shotshell without choosing a new shotgun.
