The Mossberg 590 Shockwave Laser Saddle is a compact 12-gauge pump-action shotgun built for close-quarters defense and tactical use. With its 14-inch heavy-walled barrel and Raptor Grip stock, this Model 50638 delivers the stopping power of a full-size shotgun in a maneuverable platform that's easier to handle in tight spaces—vehicles, hallways, and confined areas where a traditional length shotgun becomes a liability. The included Crimson Trace laser saddle mount gives you an aiming solution that works in low light and takes the guesswork out of close-range engagements.
Built on Mossberg's proven 590 platform, this shotgun handles like a proven workhorse. The pump action is smooth and reliable, the heavy-walled barrel is built to last, and the matte blued finish resists corrosion in field conditions. The cylinder bore choke keeps your pattern open for fast target acquisition, and the bead sight pairs with the Crimson Trace laser to give you redundancy—one or the other will get you on target when it counts.
The Raptor Grip and corn-cob forend give you something to hold onto, even with one hand or in an awkward position. The included strap on the forend adds a point of control that helps manage recoil. Load it with five shells in the magazine tube plus one in the chamber, and you've got six shots of 12-gauge authority without fumbling for a reload—more than enough firepower for home defense or as a backup gun in your vehicle or boat.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ammunition does the Mossberg 590 Shockwave accept?
The 3-inch chamber accepts both standard 2.75-inch 12-gauge shells and 3-inch magnum loads. Cylinder bore means you get a wide pattern suitable for buckshot and slugs at close range.
Is this shotgun legal to own, and what's the deal with the 14-inch barrel?
Federal law permits shotguns with barrels as short as 18 inches for standard configurations. The Shockwave's 14-inch barrel is classified as a firearm under federal law (not a shotgun or short-barreled shotgun) and is legal to own in most states, but state laws vary. Check your local and state regulations before purchase.
Does the Crimson Trace laser sight come installed?
Yes, the laser saddle is included mounted on the shotgun and ready to use.
What's the advantage of the Raptor Grip and corn-cob forend for a short-barreled shotgun?
The Raptor Grip and corn-cob forend give you secure handholds and make the compact shotgun easier to control, especially one-handed or in tight quarters. The included strap on the forend adds another point of control to manage recoil from a heavy-recoiling 12-gauge in a short, lightweight frame.
